Message from outgoing Executive Director Adam:
-- Please Welcome Nathan Klein - New VM4U Executive Director --
The VM4U board has unanimously approved Nathan Klein to be the next VM4U Executive Director. I have moved to Washington DC for work and will continue as the VM4U Board Chairman, Donor Relations Manager, and Accountant.
Nathan has been with VM4U since the very beginning in March 2022. During March and April 2022, Nathan personally made 10 van missions to drive supplies from Vienna to the EU-UA border and evacuate refugees from the EU-UA border to Vienna. Nathan also hosted a refugee family during that time. Since then, Nathan has been the VM4U Furniture Program Manager, Van Program Manager, and Director of Operations. The long hours Nathan puts in each week to serving the local refugee community and his solid logistical and leadership skills make him the clear choice for Executive Director which we can all support.
Since I am not going anywhere, I will skip the speech and simply state that the most amazing experience of being VM4U Executive Director has been those moments where you are with a family in a hopeless situation. And being able to snap your fingers and instantaneously take away all that pain, suffering, and uncertainty. And seeing the hope return to their eyes. That is of course only possible because of all the great volunteers who make all these miracles possible. Like Robert Hernan, who hosted 3 families in his home for months at a time, including some of our most challenging medical cases with many children and many cats, with life-extending and life-saving results. Keep up the great work everyone!
