Today, December 18, we commemorate International Migrants Day ✊🏽

At JOC Europe, we raise our voices to affirm something essential:
migration is not a crime, it is a right.
Behind every migration process there are people, stories, dreams, fears, and immense strength.

Migrants sustain communities, build futures, and enrich our societies — even while facing borders, racism, precarious conditions, and exclusion.

Today we do more than raise awareness. We demand:
rights, dignity, justice, and policies that put life at the center.

Because no one is illegal.
Because no human being is disposable.
Because human mobility deserves respect and care.

This month, we joined a beautiful gathering of former KAJ/YCW members in Austria — a space to reflect, reconnect, and share how we everybody is still acting in the world today years after being YCW.

It was also a moment to appreciate our method: See–Judge–Act — a tool that pushes us to look deeper, ground our reflections in human dignity and justice, and move into action with purpose. 💪✨
And yes, to celebrate what we build together.

As JOC Europe, we also had the space to speak and share about the realities and actions of the national movements.

A moment to remember where we come from, feel the strength of community, and keep moving forward with clarity and courage.

𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗝𝗢𝗖 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮 🇦🇱

It was more than just a meeting — it was a space to learn, share, and connect.

We joined GEPO’s activity on Artificial Intelligence and explored how technology shapes our lives and how young people’s views might differ from other generations.

Through open discussions and intergenerational exchanges, we discovered new perspectives and challenged our own.

There was learning, laughter, and a real sense of community. And it was also a great moment for CIJOC and JOCI to meet — reminding us that together, we are stronger than on our own.

100 years of celebration!! ✊🏽✨💯

It’s been some time since we gathered in Belgium to celebrate 100 years of shared history, struggle, and spirit.

It was a meeting full of reflection, joy, and commitment, where militants and delegates from around the world came together to see, judge, and act on what drives us as JOC.

But the celebration didn’t end there: national movements are still carrying out activities, and many more moments await us to celebrate and keep building together.

This video is a small reminder of everything we experienced and all that’s still to come.

Last weekend, we said goodbye to our dear friend and collaborator, Pontien Kabongo. We are deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden and unexpected departure. 💔

Pontien was many things to the young people in our movement: a guide, a supporter, a father figure, a role model, and a tireless activist for change. His dedication and passion for making a difference were evident in every step of his journey.

He faithfully followed the call of the movement, serving in various roles — starting from his national movement, contributing at the European level, and most recently being an invaluable part of the international team, where he supported and inspired us as an adult collaborator for the past two years.

Pontien’s presence was a beacon of encouragement and strength, always bringing wisdom, kindness, and action to everything he did. His impact on our community will not be forgotten.

Thank you for everything, Pontien. Rest in peace. 🕊️ Your spirit will always live on in our hearts. 🙏

🌍 Exciting Day at the COMECE Youth Platform Meeting! 🌍

On September 27, we had the chance to participate in the COMECE Youth Platform meeting in Brussels, where we connected with fellow youth organizations and had a productive exchange with MEP Benedetta Scuderi. We discussed key priorities for youth in Europe, shared ideas on future initiatives, and explored ways we can collaborate with MEP Scuderi to push for stronger youth policies. It was an inspiring day filled with great conversations, teamwork, and a clear path forward for 2024-2025. We’re energized and ready to advocate for youth voices across Europe! 💪

¡Un seminario que fortaleció la colaboración entre los movimientos europeos! 🇧🇪🇪🇸🇩🇪

Del 5 al 8 de septiembre, Bruselas fue el escenario del seminario europeo organizado por la JOC Europe.
Dónde militantes de los movimientos de España, Alemania y Bélgica se reunieron para debatir sobre igualdad de oportunidades y los valores de la unión europea.
Fue una experiencia enriquecedora con debates intensos y la participación de expertos en el tema, donde tuvimos la oportunidad de conocernos y explorar enfoques diversos. Juntos, avanzamos hacia un futuro más inclusivo y colaborativo. 💪🤝

A seminar that strengthened collaboration among European movements! 🇧🇪🇪🇸🇩🇪

From September 5 to 8, Brussels was the setting for the European seminar organized by JOC Europe. Activists from Spain, Germany, and Belgium gathered to discuss equal opportunities and the values of the European Union. It was an enriching experience with intense debates and the participation of experts on the subject, where we had the opportunity to meet and explore diverse approaches. Together, we are moving towards a more inclusive and collaborative future. 💪🤝

Last weekend, leaders of and met in Roeselare, Belgium to prepare an exchange between young people from base groups in Spain and Belgium. In Juli, 8 people from KAmeleJon will go to Spain to get to know the realities of the young people of JOCECYL Spain and shortly after, the other way round.
