🐈 Kitten Vasya left behind 🇺🇦
It has been a while since our last update from Project KISHKA, which we run in Ukraine. The project was launched in 2022 to support stray cats and other vulnerable animals during the difficult times of war.

Kitten Vasya is one of the many victims. He became unwanted and was left at a shelter, alone and without any help. Just imagine how scared he must have been. Unfortunately, this same story happens to thousands of animals across Ukraine. Shelters are taking in young kittens and puppies born to pets that were not spayed or neutered in time. Their owners are overwhelmed by the challenging situation in their country and have to leave their animals behind, with no one to care for them.

This is why we are trying to spay and neuter as many animals as possible in Ukraine. 💉 This not only helps prevent unwanted litters, but also comes with many other benefits:

✔️ reduce the number of animals ending up on the streets;

✔️ lower the risk of many diseases;

✔️ improve pets' quality of life and potentially increase their lifespan.

By helping prevent unwanted litters today, we can give more animals a chance at a safer, healthier, and more hopeful future.

皿 Cage of horrors 🐶
📸 This photo captures all the despair, the horror, and the insanity of the dog meat trade in Vietnam. Can you imagine that dogs are being stolen right from the street or from their homes? This is what is happening in Vietnam every day. The animals are then taken to slaughterhouses, where they are brutally killed for their meat. 🍖 This is happening to millions of dogs every year.
We received this image through our reporting tool. Here is what the person submitting it wrote to us: “This morning I saw a man carrying several puppies. Many of them looked like well-cared-for pets. I think they were lost puppies that had been captured.”

🐕 While dogs and cats are considered companion animals who are close to humans and helpful in many aspects of our lives, a small proportion of Vietnamese people still consume dog and cat meat. 💔 Obviously, this is a heartbreaking sight, with dogs confined in cramped iron cages and transported like “commodities” for consumption.

Animals suffer in extreme temperatures. 🐄💔
40°C feels unbearable to most of us. 🥵☀️ Now imagine being trapped inside a truck or on a ship, unable to escape the heat. 🚛🚢
And extreme heat is not the only danger. Very cold temperatures can also cause serious suffering. 🥶❄️
Every year, animals are transported in weather conditions that can put their health and lives at risk. With poor air circulation, little shade or shelter, and sometimes limited access to water, journeys can become unbearable. 💧
Some animals cannot even reach the drinkers and may suffer severe heat stress or dehydration. 💔
Animals going to slaughter can spend days or even weeks on the road. Animals transported for fattening and breeding can face the same long and frightening journeys. 🐄🐖🐑
No animal should have to suffer like this. 🐾

Monster Foxes, Broken Promises: Time to End Fur Farming! 💔

Despite years of industry promises, “monster foxes” are still being bred for fur in Finland.

As the EU considers the future of fur farming, the evidence is clear: there is no humane future for an industry built on animal suffering. 📢

New footage, published by Project 1882, shows foxes selectively bred to grow unnaturally large, with extreme skin folds, severe eye infections, untreated injuries and impaired mobility.

In 2017, images of “monster foxes” sparked international outrage. The fur industry announced reforms. Yet this year, Saga Furs, the world’s largest fur auction house, introduced a new, larger size category for fox pelts - despite years of promises that these cruel breeding practices would end.

12,769 Blue Fox pelts were offered in the new size 70 category at Saga Furs' March 2026 auction.

It’s time to end this immoral industry in the EU. With more than 1.5 million people calling for an EU-wide fur ban, the European Commission must listen and end fur cruelty once and for all! 🦊

Slow mornings hit differently at FELIDA Big Cat Sanctuary. 💤🐯

While the world is rushing around, our rescued big cats are enjoying a well-deserved lie-in from the comfort of their cosy beds. 🌳
And honestly... who can blame them? Autumn is creeping in and it's officially sleepy season.

Did you know lions can snooze for up to 20 hours a day? Tigers, leopards and jaguars aren't far behind, often spending between 12 and 20 hours sleeping depending on their activity levels and food availability in the wild. 🌄

A second chance, and then another. 🐻

After years of hardship, Frol and Frosia were rescued in 2020 and given a safe home at BEAR SANCTUARY Domazhyr (Ведмежий Притулок Домажир). 🌳

Late last year, the beloved duo moved to our partner sanctuary, BEAR SANCTUARY Belitsa (ПАРК ЗА МЕЧКИ Белица) in Bulgaria, where they continue to thrive.

This summer has been filled with pool time, playful wrestling matches, and enrichment treats from their caring team. 💚

Behind these numbers lies a huge team effort. Months of preparation, careful planning, legal and administrative work, complex logistics, transport arrangements and, above all, a strong focus on the wellbeing of every single animal. 🐾🌍🚚

And after all the planning, coordination and hard work…

Extreme temperatures can turn animal transport into a nightmare. 🥵❄️🚛

Animals cannot choose when they travel. They cannot escape a hot truck, find shelter from freezing temperatures, or ask for more water. 💔

In extreme heat, poor air circulation and overcrowding can make conditions even worse. ☀️🐄 Some animals cannot reach water and may suffer severe heat stress or dehydration. 💧

In extreme cold, animals can also be exposed to dangerous conditions for hours or days. 🥶🐑

And these journeys can last several days or even weeks.

Animals are transported to slaughterfattening and breeding. They are transported again and again throughout their lives. 🚛🔄

Their welfare must finally come first. 🇪🇺❤️
