IRARU.org - Culture & Integration ✨We believe that creativity plays a central role in fostering social cohesion and personal empowerment🎭🎨🎵✨

OUR VISION
For us the importance of art lies in its role as a social tool for humanity. Its performance is related to the transmission of emotions. Art is a form of communication, in which words are not necessary to convey an idea or thought. On the other hand, culture is the soul of a vibrant society, expressed in many ways in which we tell our stories, celebrate, remember the past, entertain ou

rselves and imagine the future. In this space called society we will encounter migrants, minorities, multiculturalism, other languages, etc. Our vision is that through socio-cultural initiatives citizens can interact, get to know each other, express feelings, and incorporate all groups into the social structure. OUR MISSION
To build a society in which art and culture have an important place in people’s lives, not only as performers, but also as spectators. To create instances of participation and socio-cultural initiatives that work with different sectors of the society. To highlight the importance of multiculturalism and diversity in artistic expressions, and how this positively influences respect and tolerance in a modern society. To support, celebrate and develop creative practice, cultural traditions, and transcultural initiatives.

In March 2026, CITRUS partners gathered in Mons, Belgium 🇧🇪 for a two-day training on inclusive civic education for adults with reading difficulties.

From shared moments in the city to hands-on collaborative work, the mobility combined learning, exchange, and co-creation.

Together, we explored how to make education more accessible, participatory, and meaningful through art-based approaches.

A step forward in building more inclusive learning experiences.

📅 Vernissage: 23 April 2026, 19:00 hrs
🗓 Exhibition: 23 April – 20 May

TRIAL and ERROR unfolds as part of Cast Ceramics, a Creative Europe project connecting Italy, Austria, and Poland. Across two years and three residencies, women artists moved through heritage, technology, and material transformation - beginning with reflections on identity, developing forms through 3D modelling, and arriving at ceramic bodies shaped by process.

This exhibition does not settle on finished objects. It opens the space of making itself: experimentation, friction, repetition, and discovery. A field where thought becomes form, and where personal narratives weave into a shared, shifting ground.

Between heritage and memory, architecture and artefact, the works trace fragile yet persistent connections—bridges between past and present, between what is carried and what is still becoming.

We’re excited to share that IRARU is part of a new European collaboration: Civic Art Transforms Us (CITRUS) 🍊🎨

Over the next 24 months (Nov 2025 – Oct 2027), together with partners from 5 EU countries and coordinated by Klaipėda County Public Library (Lithuania), we will explore how art can strengthen civic engagement and inclusion in adult education.

🎯 Project objectives:
• Enhance adults’ civic competences through art-based learning approaches.
• Increase accessibility and participation for adults with reading difficulties.
• Develop an AR Civic Art Gallery App featuring 5 learning programs
• Strengthen educators’ skills in digital, creative, and inclusive methodologies.
• Ensure the sustainability and long-term impact of project results beyond its duration

✨ What’s coming:
• An AR Civic Art Gallery App in 6 languages (Media Literacy, Civic Participation, Cultural Diversity, Ethical Decision-Making & Art of Protest)
• A toolbox methodology for educators
• 2 international trainings (Belgium & Latvia)
• 50 learning activities reaching 600+ adults (including 100 with reading difficulties)
• A growing community of practice for educators across Europe

At IRARU, we are proud to contribute our expertise in Art-based and inclusive methodologies, supporting adults—especially those with fewer opportunities—to engage, reflect, and actively participate in their communities.

Project co-funded by the Erasmus program of the EU

🌍 Stay tuned as we co-create accessible, creative, and impactful civic learning experiences across Europe.

After two years of collaboration and 30 sessions implemented in Vienna, we recently hosted our online Multiplier Event and an in-person gathering. These moments allowed us to share our strengths-based methodology and the impactful results from our school pilot with the community.

A huge thank you to our partners in Romania 🇷🇴 and Italy 🇮🇹, and to everyone who joined us in exploring inclusion through the Expressive Arts.

The replication guide and resources will be available very soon, stay tuned for the official release! 🔗

💬🎨 “Voices from the workshops”

A small selection of reflections from participants and facilitators in the Neurodiversity & ArtTherapy project.

✨Across our sessions, we saw how creative practice can support communication, regulation, and connection (especially when words are not the easiest option).

These insights were gathered during our pilot workshops within the Neurodiversity & Expressive Arts (ND&EXA) project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union 🇪🇺.

We wrapped up a very special phase of our pilot workshops ✨. Looking at these images reminds us that, beyond artistic techniques, the most important thing was building an environment of trust.

We confirmed that art is a powerful bridge when words are not enough. We moved from initial hesitation to collective confidence, creating a place where every emotion and every silence was welcome. 💓

🙌🏻Thank you to everyone who was part of this experience for allowing yourselves to explore, pause, and connect in your own way.

Facilitated by: ~ IRARU Team
Organized by: IRARU, co-funded by Erasmus+

This workshop is part of the Neurodiversity & ArtTherapy project, supported by the European Union, which aims to train professionals and create more opportunities for inclusion and well-being for neurodivergent youth in Europe. 2023-2-RO01-KA220-YOU-000180487
