Mohammed Al-Bashir: Reconstruction is one of the top priorities of the government to ensure the return of the displaced
Mohammed Al-Bashir, the head of the caretaker government, confirmed that the issue of rebuilding destroyed buildings to secure the return of displaced people to their homes and villages in northern Syria is one of the government’s priorities. He pointed out that the new Syrian administration will not abandon camp residents until they return to their homes.
After his visit to the camps in rural Idlib, Al-Bashir explained that the government has two tracks regarding the return of displaced people whose homes are still standing, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.
He added that the second track for the destroyed areas is related to support funds and the efforts exerted by the new administration to lift sanctions, attract investments, and finance reconstruction funds.
Al-Bashir indicated that there is a precise budget for the cost of reconstruction, particularly regarding infrastructure in Syria as a whole, noting that all ministries are working to gather the necessary requirements.
