Social Impact Award (SIA) empowers youth to make a difference in 15+ countries across Europe, Central Asia, and Africa. We support their development into active agents of change that build social ventures and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. We do so by hosting local events and organizing workshops on social entrepreneurship, running incubation programs to help validate an

d prototype impact and business models, and nurturing this global community of resilient social entrepreneurs whose stories raise awareness about the field and inspire local youth to take action. This all gets us one step closer to a world where young people realize their potential as agents of change.

One of our favorite ways of partnering with companies is through corporate volunteering. At the heart of our work is a very wide network of people assuming different roles in the community - from participants, to mentors, to experts, to jury members, to team members, and organizers, there are so many ways of getting involved.

This means SIA was basically MADE for corporate volunteering. Talented people from other organizations can jump in and support our participants with their skills and experience. And often, they get hooked. See how Gina Avram, a senior consultant at SAP became more than just a volunteer in 2025 🫂

Imagine the courage it takes to go from survivor of domestic violence to founding a business that supports others in a similar situation. That’s the kind of person Sogol Kordi is, and the kind of business MyProtectify is becoming.

What was once a vague idea circling in her head has now become reality. MyProtectify now has a product, and Sogol speaks on some of the world’s biggest stages about her journey.

A lot goes into our impact measurement standards. We pride ourselves in the rigor of our tools and the methods we use to better understand our impact. By gathering this data, we can make improvements to our work and help more people, in a more effective way.

And with a founder like Peter Vandor, who also happens to be the founder of the Social Entrepreneurship center at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, It’s no surprise impact measurement is so valued at SIA.

Young people are not passive observers of decline. When given the opportunity, they turn ideas into action and action into solutions that can improve lives, communities, and systems.

Our 2025 Global Impact Report is now live, and at a time of extraordinary chaos around the world, the stories in the report highlight a different pattern. One where young people assume responsibility for the actions of others, working hard to challenge chaos with innovation, violence with compassion, uncertainty with optimism.

This duality was felt by the entire SIA community. Our most successful edition of SIA in 15 years of activity was also our most challenging, with funding cuts and climate commitments weakened.

There is no time to lean back. We must all double down our efforts to secure a more just and sustainable future for all. Please join us in celebrating 2025, and stepping into 2026 with courage and compassion.

In January and February, parts of Ukraine faced temperatures far below zero and repeated attacks left millions without reliable electricity, heating, and water. Despite such conditions, many Ukraine’s young changemakers kept moving forward.
