WOMEN FOR PEACE shines a light on exceptional personalities and their efforts in the fight for women’s rights. Ending conflict related sexual and gender based violence (SGBV) is of fundamental importance to international peace and security. We can stop SGBV, as r**e and other forms of sexual and gender based violence are not a mere accident in wartime: they are weapons deliberately used in armed c

onflicts around the globe to traumatize women and girls and terrorize their communities. Inspired by the extraordinary atmosphere during the 2016 WOMEN FOR PEACE conference on SGBV in condlict zones and motivated by the contributions of both panellists and audience, we will keep shining a light on exceptional personalities and their efforts in the fight for women’s rights.
