Always good to climb a tower! I quickly investigated a little rattling noise which turned out to originate from a loose bolt at the turbine's tail. This particular model is a Kestrel made in South Africa (not my usual homebuilt axial-flux windmill)

Neue Termine: Lerne im Workshop wie du ein kleines Windrad selbst bauen kannst - zur unabhängigen, autarken Stromversorgung. Vorkenntnisse sind zur Teilnahme am nicht erforderlich.

Ein ganz besonderes Projekt:
Wir verwenden dabei einfache und leicht zu beschaffende Materialen. Jede Menge Handwerk, nützliches Wissen aus den Bereichen Holz, Metall, Elektrotechnik & Maschinenbau sowie praktisches Know-How zur Anwendung von Kleinwindkraft als Ergänzung für deine Stromversorgung erwarten dich im Workshop.

Wir behandeln dabei auch ausführlich, wie das Selbstbau-Windrad in ein vorhandenes elektrisches System integriert wird und was es dazu an Technik braucht.

I use this template to tack weld the parts for the generator frames on our 2.2F DIY wind turbine in preparation for upcoming projects.

This quick welding template from scrap wood was made 3 years ago as a prototype. It worked so well that I haven't yet bothered to make a proper metal version of it.

Homebuilt Wind Turbine ⬇️
We made this one in 2023 and it has been running and producing power since then without issues. It's the 2.2F16p model, connected to an off-grid house alongside some PV.
