Since late 2025, the group Amnesty International has tracked more arrests of refugees in Egypt, especially targeting Sudanese families. Some of these families are already signed up with UNHCR, the UN's refugee agency.
The impact on daily life has been real. Amnesty reports that some families have stopped sending their children to school, afraid of what might happen. Others have
limited how often they leave home at all.
We're here because children are caught in the middle of it. They're the ones losing safe routines, like school, and simple moments of normal life.
