We are happy to share one of the results of the project "Facilitation Compass Methods Lab" - a manual with the educational methods which we developed by participants during the training course which we have organised in September!

The methods are diverse and encourage creativity, teamwork, self expression and reflect the needs of young people nowadays!

Hello, hello!
We want to dive into one more important ’success’ ingredient of “Facilitation Compass” even though the word success can bring different associations for each of you.

For us ‘success’ is also measured by what comes after the project ends:
-connections people keep (both personal and professional)
-learnings participants apply to their work
-new initiatives being born
-new partnerships created
-friendships developed
-follow-up initiatives emerging

It was special to see all the local activities you, dear participants of the project, implemented, some of you meeting a month , couple of months after the project in various corners of Europe, some of you developing in your journey as professional facilitators and trainers, some of you meeting REGULARLY online for Dungeons and Dragons sessions.

At the end of the training course, we made a needs analysis and, luckily, our partnership ( with our partners from both programme and partner countries ) created a continuation of “Facilitation Compass” project - Facilitation Compass: Methods Lab where we will explore various methods and tools in facilitation and training!

So, another exciting journey is starting and you have the chance to join it if you want! Stay tuned for more news and feel free to contact us if you are interested to participate!

It will take place in our beloved Blue Whale Education Centre on 15-23 September 2025.

Hey, hey!

We want to share more about “Facilitation Compass” training and what made it special and here we will mostly base our thoughts on the reflections of the participants shared in the evaluation forms and it is …the environment.

What we strive for in the centre is to provide the space which ’stimulates’ learning and which is free for participants to explore, try things out, spend active time together and alone as well as more calm time together and alone. Of course, we are making slow steps of making the space better and better each day and how rewarding it is to see the efforts paid off!
Here is couple of the comments from the participants of our training course:

“It is the perfect place for learning because even the environment demands it. When I was there, I felt motivated to do something rather than just sitting and going through my phone”.

“I was schocked about how much services you can provide and how much freedom and flexibility was given to the participants. Amazing!”

Of course, there are still a lot of things to improve but we think it’s important to remember that the environment has a very powerful impact on the learning process!

When we organise the activities like training courses, youth exchanges, community events and other, we really prefer to focus on the present moment and be ‘here and now’ with everything that happens during the process.

It has one down side though - we share about the great things that we do online with a huge delay or we forget to share about them at all. Well, nobody is perfect and we take responsibility for that.

Yet, even with the delays we want to share more about the great things that are happening at the Blue Whale Education Centre!!!

That being said, let us share about an absolutely special training course which took place 02-11 July 2024 in our beloved Blue Whale Education Centre and reflect little bit on what made it special.

First and foremost - the people! The 29 absolutely unique, vibrant and devoted individuals with strong desire to learn more about facilitation and trainership as well as sincere wish to connect, share and learn from each other.

We believe that the mindset with which we choose to enter the learning journey matters a lot and during this training course there were numerous occasions when participants / trainers/ organising team chose not to go according to the ‘fixed patterns’ of how things should be done in our mind, but allowed new experiences to happen, new ways to learn to unfold and new ‘patterns’ to be created.

We cherished those moments and it brought so much learning and insights!
