MATHIEU SYLVESTRE | .shyster
Field Recordings and analog synthesizers are the main sources of the sound processed by Mathieu Sylvestre. Noises and natural sounds are interwoven and articulated in electrified sound narratives between aural synaesthesia and spatial vibrations.
The live electronic sound performances based on improvised patterns have been evolving show after show and highlight boundaries between analog sound textures and the core of electronic vibrations that focuses on bringing noise music a plastic and physical approach.

Deta & Leszek
DETA & LESZEK |

CONTINUUM - Forms of Being
________________________________________________________________
[Katarzyna Podpora - sounds, Laura Adel - audioreactive visuals]
Continuing their project INITIUM - Forms of Being (begun in 2024), the artists draw from the special interconnection that arises between them while co-creating live audiovisual forms. Katarzyna Podpora makes her music in close relation with the sound properties of Other Others – as she calls the inanimate entities that constitute her instrumentarium, e.g.: remains of non-human beings (amplified animal bones, dead plant parts), objects of no use, scratched vinyl records, damaged instruments, tapes with lo-fi field recordings. Laura Adel creates a visual space for their sounds – a complex composition of audioreactive videos. Her digital environments of a new nature – different, yet strangely familiar – merge and swirl with the music. Creating together, the artists remain suspended between materiality and immateriality, while the audiovisual forms they have initiated keep on reshaping towards CONTINUUM – a study of the multi-layered sounds and images’ shimmering coexistence.

RENT |
Rent’s sounds refer to industrial ecosystems, interconnections, dark landscapesand their stories. At
the same time, it is the processes of sound creation itself that emerge in Rent’s compositions: sounds
influence each other, reinforce each other, cancel each other out, dissolve and become noise, sound
like the city, a car alarm for example. Then everything gets lost in the fog again. What first appears
as confrontational music undergoes a idiosyncratic alchemy. Harsh sounds collide with digital
remains and field recordings and form an ephemeral unity whose story unfolds and changes over
time, while at the sametime revealing genuine vulnerabilities.

CATE HOPS |
With a scientific background in visual and media anthropology, her ideas revolve around the
concept of space as a social practice.

Musically, as a dj, performer and curator she shifts between scenes and genres coming with a
background in roots and dub, over UK bass related sounds and tekno, to more experimental forms
of contemporary electronic and electro-acoustic music. As a performer she is working on her own
live noise improvisations and has co-founded the Fem*noise network.
With the ongoing project „Sound System Culture: On the Radical Roots of Rave“, she initiates
events in which the audience is actively involved.
