Highlights from the 3rd ICSF World Cup.
📍Meziboří, Czech Republic 🇨🇿

Yesterday, May 23, nearly 100 athletes gathered in Meziboří for the 3rd World Cup competition of the season. 🎣🌍

It was a long and demanding day for athletes, judges, and organizers alike, held under beautiful sunny skies from start to finish. ☀️ Most participants are probably leaving Meziboří with a bit of a tan — and plenty of new memories.

The strong wind throughout almost the entire competition especially affected the distance disciplines, making the conditions even more challenging. Still, the best performances prevailed, and we congratulate all winners and medalists on their excellent results. 👏

Thank you to everyone who took part, and we wish all competitors the best of luck for the next World Cup event!

Last Saturday, May 16, Lenzing hosted the second World Cup competition of the season with 91 athletes from 10 countries. 🎣🌍

The event brought not only great performances, but also very challenging conditions throughout the entire day — cold weather, constant rain, and a long competition schedule tested everyone on and around the field. 🌧️👏

Congratulations to all winners and medalists, and respect to every athlete, organizer, and volunteer who made it through this demanding competition day.

Successful Casting Sport Camp Returns for Summer 2026 in Italy

Following the great success of last year’s international youth camp in the Czech Republic, the International Casting Sport Federation (ICSF) is proud to invite young athletes to the 2026 Casting Sport Youth Summer Training Camp in Borgo Valsugana, Italy, from 10 to 15 August.

The previous camp brought together participants from several countries, creating a highly positive environment for learning, development, and international friendship—an experience organizers are excited to build on this year.

The 2026 camp promises high-quality training led by experienced coaches, with two daily sessions focused on improving technique, sharing knowledge, and developing young talent. Athletes will also have the chance to connect with peers from around the world in a fun and supportive setting.

Set in the scenic Trentino region, Borgo Valsugana offers the perfect mix of sport and nature, providing an inspiring backdrop for a memorable summer experience.

With accommodation, meals, and full access to sports facilities included, the camp offers excellent value and a unique opportunity to grow within the international casting sport community.

Information from Italy and the preperation for the upcoming world Championship in fly Casting.

Per la prima volta in Italia si svolgeranno i Campionati Mondiali di Fly Casting, assegnati alla Federazione Italiana Pesca Sportiva e attività Subacquee dalla International Casting Sport Federation, la federazione internazionale che organizza questa prestigiosa manifestazione con cadenza biennale. Le edizioni precedenti si sono svolte in Norvegia nel 2022 e in Svezia nel 2023.

La FIPSAS ha scelto come sede dell’evento il Comune di Vinadio, in provincia di Cuneo. Vinadio, località ricca di storia e immersa in un paesaggio naturale unico, offre un lago dalle acque calme e poco profonde, particolarmente adatto a questa disciplina altamente tecnica.

Il Fly Casting è uno sport che non prevede l’interazione con il pesce, ma si basa su prove di lancio che mettono in evidenza precisione, controllo e abilità tecnica degli atleti.

Dal 23 al 30 agosto sarà un’occasione unica per assistere alle performance di circa 80 atleti provenienti da 12–15 nazioni, impegnati in competizioni che richiedono grande concentrazione e anni di allenamento.

Ieri si è svolto un incontro istituzionale con le autorità locali di Vinadio. Il Sindaco, dott. Giuseppe Pietro Cornara, che ha espresso grande entusiasmo per la scelta della location da parte della Federazione. Alla riunione erano presenti anche il Consigliere Federale Stefano Sarti, responsabile dell’evento, il Commissario Tecnico della Nazionale Italiana Riccardo Carrara e il Presidente Regionale Piemonte FIPSAS, nonché Presidente Provinciale FIPSAS Cuneo, dott. Giacomo Pellegrino.

Nel corso della giornata sono stati coinvolti operatori turistici, attività di ristorazione e strutture alberghiere del territorio. Da parte di tutti è emerso grande interesse e un sentito ringraziamento alla Federazione per l’attenzione dedicata al marketing territoriale.

Un grande evento sportivo che rappresenta un’importante opportunità per valorizzare il territorio: le Nazioni e gli atleti presenti potranno apprezzare non solo le capacità organizzative della Federazione e di tutti i volontari presenti, ma saranno colpiti dall’eccellenza dell’enogastronomia locale, ma soprattutto l’ospitalità tipica della zona.

With this new service, any organizer can now publish their competition on the official ICSF website — whether it is a local, regional, national, or major international event.

We would like to highlight important international rule changes that come into effect this year. Below are three key updates:

1. New Fly Line – Event 2 (Single-Handed Distance Fly)
Following the discontinuation of the previously approved line, ICSF has developed a new fly line for Event 2. After extensive testing and a formal decision at the ICSF Congress in Budapest, the new line is, as of January this year, the only internationally approved line.
It is mandatory for all World Cup competitions, Youth World Championships, and World Championships.
The line can be purchased through national federations or ordered directly from ICSF in batches of 10.

2. Junior Renamed to Youth – New Age Categories
The former Junior category is now called Youth and is permanently divided into two age groups:

U16 (up to and including 16 years)

U23 (17–23 years)

3. Changes to Event 4 for Youth
Youth competitors will cast at one target only in Event 4. In addition, competitions will be conducted in a knockout format to enhance the sport’s attractiveness and spectator appeal.

We encourage all federations and athletes to review the updated international regulations for full details. Please note that international rules may differ from national regulations, and we recommend verifying any differences at national level.
