Begeistert ... absolviert unsere Stipendiatin Phurpu das Praktikum im Rahmen ihrer Barista Ausbildung. Die Kaffeekultur ist noch relativ neu in Nepal, die Anzahl der Lokale wachsen jedoch sehr stark und damit sind die Jobchancen sehr gut.

Wir wünschen Phurpu jedenfalls noch alles gute und danken den PatInnen für die kontinuierliche Unterstützung.

Delighted.....our scholarship holder Phurpu is completing her work placement as part of her barista training. Coffee culture is still relatively new in Nepal, but the number of cafés is growing rapidly, meaning job prospects are very good.

Schwierig …
… ist es gerade auch für die Frauen in Kunikhop. Ein Feuer hat das Farmhaus der Kooperative zerstört – die Ursache ist noch unklar.
Mit dem Haus ging weit mehr verloren als nur ein Gebäude. Infrastruktur und Ausstattung wurden zerstört, vieles, was über Jahre gemeinsam aufgebaut wurde, ist plötzlich nicht mehr da. Und mit den Flammen verschwanden auch Erinnerungen, viel Arbeit und ein Stück Hoffnung.
Besonders weh tut der Anblick der zerstörten Holzarbeiten. Sie waren wunderschön und machten dieses Haus zu etwas Besonderem.
Jetzt heißt es, gemeinsam nach vorne zu schauen. Wir hoffen sehr, dass wir zusammen mit den Frauen in Kunikhop eine gute Lösung finden und Schritt für Schritt wieder aufbauen können. ❤️

It’s difficult …
… especially for the women in Kunikhop right now. A fire has destroyed the cooperative’s farmhouse – the cause is still unclear.
With the house, far more than just a building was lost. Infrastructure and equipment were destroyed; much of what had been built up together over the years has suddenly vanished. And along with the flames, memories, a great deal of hard work and a glimmer of hope also disappeared.
It is particularly painful to see the destroyed woodwork. It was beautiful and made this house something special.
Now it’s time to look ahead together. We very much hope that, together with the women in Kunikhop, we can find a good solution and rebuild step by step. ❤️

Die Situation vor Ort ... ist in diesem Artikel gut beschrieben. Teile mancher Orte ragen aus dem Schlamm heraus, andere Orte sind ganz weg. Wir haben bereits für 7 Mädchen, deren Zukunft ungewiss war, die Ausbildung abgesichert und versuchen gerade finanzielle Mitteln für weitere aufzutreiben.

The situation on the ground.....is well described in this article. Parts of some villages are sticking out of the mud, whilst others have been completely swept away. We have already secured education for seven girls whose futures were uncertain, and are currently trying to raise funds for more.

Großartig ist auch das Engagement von Christoph Galik https://www.facebook.com/christoph.galik?locale=en_EN für die betroffenen Mädchen in Nepal. Sie und ihre Familien haben nicht nur geliebte Menschen und alles Materielle verloren, ohne Hilfe verlieren sie auch ihre Zukunft.
Nach der Soforthilfe über Chay Ya https://www.facebook.com/chayya.austria?locale=de_DE kümmern wir uns um Mädchen, die ohne Hilfe jetzt das Studium abbrechen müßten und in eine ungewisse Zukunft gehen würden.

Am 7. Oktober gibt es ein Konzert in Graz und ich würde ich freuen, viele bekannte Gesichter zu sehen 🙂

Nach der verheerenden Flutkatastrophe brauchen die Menschen in den betroffenen Gebieten jetzt dringend unsere Unterstützung.

Bei großer Hitze im Juni ..... durften wir uns auf der Fair Styria Messe in Graz präsentieren. Neben Besuch von politischen VertreterInnen waren es vor allem viele SchülerInnen, die trotz der Temperaturen Interesse für unsere Aktivitäten aufbringen konnten.

Vielen Dank für alle die unsere Aktivitäten der letzten Jahren unterstützt haben.

Amidst the sweltering heat of June …
… we had the opportunity to showcase our work at the Fair Styria trade fair in Graz. As well as visits from political representatives, it was above all the many school pupils who, despite the heat, showed an interest in our activities.

Das letzte Mal ... wurde im Frühjahr an die Mädchen bis Klasse 10 in den Dörfern Material verteilt. Durch das Agrarprojekt sind die Eltern in der Lage in Zukunft dafür selbst aufzukommen. Gemeinsam hat die Kooperative entschieden in Zukunft das Geld für die Mädchen nach der Klasse 10 einzusetzen, für Klasse 11 und 12 bzw. für weitere praktische oder universitäre Ausbildungen.

Vielen Dank an alle PatInnen, die uns bisher unterstützt haben. Wir hoffen, dass sie sich mit uns über den Erfolg des Programmes freuen und die Mädchen auch nach Klasse 10 weiter unterstützen.

The last time …
… materials were distributed to girls up to Year 10 in the villages in the spring. Thanks to the agricultural project, parents will be able to cover the costs themselves in future. The co-operative has collectively decided to use the money in future to support the girls after Year 10, for Years 11 and 12 or for further vocational or university education.
