WSA implements the UN agenda for the development of the information society and supports specifically the UN Sustainable Development Goals of ending poverty, hunger and disease, providing education for all, saving the environment and giving a fair share to women through the use of ICTs. Since 2005 WSA has a special youth edition, encouraging young social entrepreneurs to use ICTs to take action on the SDGs.

And that’s a wrap! The WSA Global Congress in Vienna has come to an end, hopefully leaving many bright minds inspired and energized for the projects and ideas that will continue shaping the digital world of today and tomorrow.

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who was part of this event coming from 73 countries and 6 continents! The winners stood out not only for their innovation, but also for the inspiring pitches they delivered on stage.

To all the National Experts, Jurors, Youth Ambassadors, and members of the community: thank you for continuously choosing to be part of this network and for creating a genuine sense of family and belonging. You make WSA what it is.

Thank you to the and Vice Mayor .wien for hosting the WSA in Vienna and for sharing the concept of Digital Humanism!

At the conference opening, we also heard from UN ODET and about the relevance of initiatives like WSA for the Agenda 2030 goals.

More than anything, Day 1 of the WSA Global Congress served as a reminder of why connection and the exchange of ideas need to happen. A cliché saying, but nevertheless true.

Digital sovereignty, digital divides, AI, capital, and purpose may sound like a chaotic mix of topics, but at the core, the message is simple: building network capital upon a safe digital space created with purpose.

So don’t miss today’s agenda as we dive even deeper into these topics, hear stories from some of the founders and proud members of the community, and most importantly, support the winners as they present their solutions.
