Our Tech Talk series is delivered by a wide range of industry professionals from within our membership, sharing practical insights, real project experience, innovation and best practice from across the precast sector. Our Legal Q&A sessions, delivered by Moray & Agnew, provide clear and timely guidance on the legal, risk and regulatory issues impacting precast businesses.

Together, these webinars are designed to help members stay informed, build capability and confidently navigate a changing construction environment. All sessions are open to members and free subscribers, with recordings available for those unable to attend live.

Sunset Sleepers is trialling an AI inspection system that detects chips, cracks and surface inconsistencies in real time, helping precast manufacturers reduce waste, rework and cost.

Developed with Swinburne University of Technology and supported by CRC, the system produces consistent, objective quality data that supports compliance with Australian and international standards. If successful, it could set a new benchmark for digital quality control in precast, and offer a scalable model for smarter, safer and more efficient factories across Australia.

Underground innovation

We’re excited to share that Geoquest Australia has been featured in the latest edition of Roads & Infrastructure Australia for its impressive Gurneys Cider Underground Storage project in Foster, Victoria.

Using the TechSpan® precast arch system — normally used in bridges, tunnels and mining — Geoquest has created a striking underground structure that serves as both a cider maturation space and a visitor experience hub. The clear-span design provides natural thermal stability, long-term durability and a low-impact building form that blends beautifully into the landscape.

It’s a brilliant example of how precast concrete can be used in new and unexpected ways, combining strength, sustainability and architectural character in one project.

Congratulations to the Geoquest team on this outstanding achievement.

We are delighted to announce that Sarah Bachmann, Executive Advisor for National Precast Concrete Association Australia has been inducted into the Associations Forum Hall of Fame!

For more than 35 years Sarah has been a leader in the association sector – from grassroots roles at state level through to national leadership and board service. For the past 21 years she has had the privilege of leading National Precast, representing our industry and community with pride.
