Before EFA26 comes to a close, one more look back at the Euregio Days. 🇪🇺

From regional constellations to cross-border cooperation, the Euregio Days brought a different perspective on how Europe can work together — starting from its regions.

Alpbach - a place of encounter 🇪🇺

For the first time, the European Forum Alpbach welcomed the heads of state and delegations of the German-speaking countries for a gathering centred around this year’s theme: “How Europe Wins.”

The delegations held a working session on Europe’s capacity to act and met with EFA scholarship holders — bringing decision-makers and the next generation of Europeans together.

With 700 young people from more than 60 countries in Alpbach this year, the exchange reflects what the Forum has stood for since 1945: a place for dialogue across borders, generations and hierarchies.

Today, that tradition came to life once again: bringing decision-makers and young Europeans together to listen, exchange and shape Europe’s future.

What happens when 30 experts from different disciplines come together to tackle one of Europe’s biggest challenges? ➡️ Welcome to the EFA Labs.

Over three days, carefully curated groups worked together at to move beyond discussion: developing new ideas, challenging perspectives and building communities of action.

🎙️ In this short video, Programme Manager Peter Hunya, together with Petia Niederländer, Director for Payments, Risk Management and Financial Literacy, Oesterreichische Nationalbank, and Antje Scheidler, Director, Democracy & Global Issues, Robert Bosch Stiftung share what makes the EFA Labs unique.

Across two Lab blocks, participants are working on challenges within four key areas:

🎙️ Hear from Kata Tüttő, President of the European Committee of the Regions, and Anton Mattle, Governor of Tyrol and President of the Euregio Tyrol–South Tyrol–Trentino, on why regional perspectives matter for Europe.

Today’s Hike “EU Dialogue with Local Communities”, hosted by the Euregio Tyrol–South Tyrol–Trentino and the European Committee of the Regions, brought EU representatives, local and regional leaders, and citizens together on the trail.

Walking side by side created space for direct conversations about how Europe can strengthen its connection with local communities — and why regions are essential to making Europe tangible, responsive and closer to its citizens.

Rain couldn’t stop the music. 🌧️🎺

The Alpbach Brass Band carried on with their Friday night concert in the village square — kicking off the Euregio Days with a little Tyrolean tradition.

Over the coming days, the Euregio Days will bring Europe into focus at a regional level, creating new spaces for cross-border dialogue, diverse perspectives and shared problem-solving. 🇪🇺✨
