For it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16).
To "BE" is to ACTIVELY follow through in something or with something, and in this case, "to be holy." It's actively and continuously aligning your THOUGHTS, ACTIONS, and WILL with God’s CHARACTER, rather than a PASSIVE or one-time experience.
When a college teacher is giving a farewell speech or a teacher at graduation says, "Go out there and BE the best at your new career," they are telling you to ACTIVELY pursue BEING your best. It's to put EFFORTS into DOING something to become better; you are ACTIVELY "BEING" the best at your new career.
So, it's acceptable to hear today from worldly people giving advice with the statement" TO BE", but when God spoke, giving a command "TO BE HOLY," these so-called Christians say, "We do not have to; it's impossible. God imputed it already to us." Smh.
Which is not true at all. What he did is "made us holy."
Being "Made Holy" (Hebrews 10:10), (POSITION/STANDING): This is so now God can commune with us and interact with us. Before, we were too FILTHY and UNCLEAN. This is now, legal standing with God (justification) achieved solely by Jesus' blood.
We are "set apart" as belonging to God, IN CHRIST, so moving forward, the SANCTIFICATION work of the Holy Spirit can now help PRODUCE in us a CHARACTER of HOLINESS and holy living by OBEYING and SUBMITTING to the POWER of the Holy Spirit, who is doing a work in us, leading us and EMPOWERING us to do GOOD WORKS of RIGHTEOUSNESS and HOLINESS.
His holiness is not given to us as a ONE-TIME EVENT or a ONE-AND-DONE experience, and we now need not "to be holy" or do anything else afterward, as scripture DEMANDS we must be holy. No, his Holy character is being RENEWED in us through SATISFACTION, OBEDIENCE, and SUBMITTING to the work, POWER, and WILL of the Holy Spirit. Which we become transformed into his image.
"And have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator" (Colossians 3:10). Again, we are "BEING RENEWED" which is a process that comes when we "BE HOLY" living holy, that by doing so transforms us into the "IMAGE OF IT'S CREATOR" ( CHARACTER).
This process, done in us TRUE believers, is what scripture means when it says, "holiness and be holy."
Again, "being made holy" positions believers to now have access to Him who is holy God ALMIGHTY, which we could never have had an audience with God if that were not possible. It places you in the starting position of now being able to interact with God, who is holy, placing you in a relationship "in GOOD STANDING" with Him so now He can be in us to renew us to his character of holiness by OBEYING his word.
We now move forward, cleansed of past sins and filth, and now, through the righteousness of Jesus, through His blood applied to us, we are now POSITIONED as or "made holy." Then afterward, because the Father can now deal with us, we are given His spirit moving forward in Jesus "to be holy."
Holiness is not automatically given to any believer; there's a difference between "BE HOLY" and "MADE HOLY." We MUST move forward in Jesus and now live a holy life.
Think about this: Jesus, speaking of the Father, said, "He CUTS OFF every BRANCH in me that BEARS NO FRUIT, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful" (John 15:2).
"Fruit" represents holiness and righteous living. If you are not living holy (bearing no fruit) then the Father "cuts off the branch" (referring to a believer), that implies you need to be holy and live a "certain" way in Jesus, which is holy living. To be fruitful is to be holy, period.
Therefore, if holiness was imputed to believers, and "no one can be holy" as these so-called Christians say, then why would God say, "BE HOLY"? Remember, according to the so-called believers, "believers are already holy and have holiness imputed to them."
When he says "TO BE HOLY" hes clearly tell everyone to actively seek, pursue and live inna way that reflects thr character of God.
God is not the author of confusion; Satan is! It's another doctrine of devils, with the SOLE purpose of making people (so-called Christians and weak Christians who are not rooted in Jesus and His word) believe, that holy living should not be practiced. And Satan tells them to "avoid attempting to be holy and righteous because remember Jesus did it all on the cross for you, and holiness is already imputed to you; just keep believing."
Of course, Satan wants this wicked teaching to be believed, and he wants new Christians not rooted well in Jesus and these so-called Christians to obey the lie and live by it so that SIN, which is the OPPOSITE of HOLINESS, becomes the very life you live. which living in sin, being in nature contrary to God and his word that states: "WITHOUT HOLINESS NO ONE WILL SEE THE LORD" (Hebrews 12:14), will have them go to hell instead of heaven.
Satan thinks he's cleaver, it's a major deception being believed in the church, passed down by Satan through fake preachers and his agents of hell (so-called Christians). Satan DOES NOT WANT ANYONE to live holy because, as scripture just stated, it's the ABSOLUTE ONLY WAY ANYONE will EVER see God.
Wake up, people! Again, MANY have fallen asleep to the sound of false doctrines. Awake, awake to life and live! Repent of all your unrighteousness; cry out to God to forgive your unholy ways. If ANYONE, including myself, is found living in sin and not living a holy life, WE WILL NOT SEE HIM, PERIOD!
Wake up to righteousness and holiness and live!
