Leptospirosis cases are on the rise in our community – and with all this rain, the risk is real.
This is a bacterial disease spread through contaminated water, mud, and soil. It can enter your body through cuts or by touching your face after contact with dirty water.

Watch for: headache, fever, vomiting, muscle aches, and red eyes.

Protect your family – avoid floodwaters, wear protective footwear outdoors, cover any cuts, and keep your surroundings clean.

If symptoms worsen, visit your nearest health center or LBJ Hospital.

Memories I hold dearly in my heart of the Sailele Catholic Church building when it was still standing. Unfortunately, things get old and dilapidated, and the building was no longer safe.
