In the village of Pemzashen, where tufa stone has shaped homes and churches for centuries, visitors can try their hand at Armenian stonecraft. At Stone Art Guest House, you’ll create a clay candleholder, decorate it with colorful tufa pieces, and learn about the region’s 48 shades of stone.

Guided by local artisans, the workshop offers a calm, creative space to connect with a tradition that’s both practical and deeply rooted in Armenian heritage.

In the village of Aghavnadzor, Dove Canyon Winery brings together local tradition and careful winemaking. Led by Abel, the winemaker, guests tour the vineyard, explore native grape varieties, and learn how the region’s climate shapes each bottle. The visit ends with a tasting of four wines from the cellar, paired with Armenian cheeses, dried fruits, and sweets—an easy mix of good wine, local flavors, and quiet hospitality.
