Keron Development Foundation with Gulf Insider. Two internationally ranked players. One court. Around 200 children watching, learning, and imagining what could come next.

On September 5 in Tsaghkadzor, around 200 children and young athletes from across Armenia joined Elina Avanesyan and Alina Charaeva for a masterclass — training with them, asking questions, and experiencing professional tennis up close.

Later that day, the two internationally ranked players representing Armenia stepped onto the same court for an exhibition match on home soil.
But the story was bigger than one match. Our Executive Director, Vanane Ararktsyan, spoke with Gulf Insider about how the day came together, the idea behind it, and who it was ultimately created for.

🇦🇲 Հոկտեմբերի 5–6-ը Երևանում առաջին անգամ անցկացվեց «Հայաստան–Միացյալ Թագավորություն բիզնես համաժողով 2026»-ը, որին մասնակցեց նաև «Կերոն» զարգացման հիմնադրամը՝ շեշտադրելով մշակույթի դերը հայ-բրիտանական կապերի ամրապնդման գործում։

Հոկտեմբերի 6-ին «Կերոն»-ի գործադիր տնօրեն Վանանե Արարքցյանը վարեց «Մշակութային կամուրջ․ ժառանգություն, երաժշտություն և մշակութային դիվանագիտություն» խորագրով պանելային քննարկումը՝ հեղինակավոր բրիտանական և հայկական մշակութային հաստատությունների ներկայացուցիչների մասնակցությամբ։

Քննարկման առանցքում էր մշակույթի, ժառանգության, թանգարանների, գրադարանների, հավաքածուների ու երաժշտության դերը Հայաստանի և Միացյալ Թագավորության միջև երկարաժամկետ վստահություն և նոր համագործակցություններ ձևավորելու հարցում։

🇬🇧 On October 5–6, the Armenia–UK Business Forum 2026 was held in Yerevan for the first time, with the Keron Development Foundation among the participants, highlighting the role of culture in strengthening Armenian–British relations.

On October 6, Vanane Ararktsyan, Executive Director of the Keron Development Foundation, moderated the panel discussion “The Cultural Bridge: Heritage, Music and Cultural Diplomacy,” bringing together representatives of leading British and Armenian cultural institutions.

The discussion focused on the role of culture, heritage, museums, libraries, collections, and music in building long-term trust and creating new opportunities for cooperation between Armenia and the United Kingdom.

🇦🇲 Հոկտեմբերի 5-ը Ուսուցչի միջազգային օրն է։

Կերոնի «Տաղանդների ֆոնդ» ծրագրի առանցքային նպատակներից է միջազգային փորձն ու մասնագիտական գիտելիքը բերել Հայաստան, ինչպես նաև փոխանցել և կիսվել այդ գիտելիքով տեղի մասնագետների և հաջորդ սերնդի հետ:

Ծրագրի մասնակիցներից շատերն այսօր իրենց փորձը կիսում են Հայաստանում գործող տարբեր կառույցներում՝ դասավանդելով կրթական հաստատություններում, անցկացնելով վարպետության դասեր, աշխատելով երիտասարդների, մանկավարժների և մասնագետների հետ։

Դրսից հրավիրված մասնագետներն ոչ միայն աշխատում են Հայաստանում, այլև ստեղծում են գիտելիքի փոխանցման նոր շղթա՝ իրենց միջազգային փորձը դարձնելով տեղական կարողություն։

One of the key goals of Keron’s Talent Pool program is to bring international expertise and professional knowledge to Armenia, while ensuring that this knowledge is shared with local professionals and the next generation.

Today, many participants of the program share their experience across various institutions in Armenia by teaching at educational institutions, conducting masterclasses, and working with young people, educators, and professionals.

Experts invited from abroad do more than simply work in Armenia. They create a new chain of knowledge transfer, turning their international experience into local capacity.

🇦🇲 Պատմական հաղթանակ թենիսի աշխարհում

Հայաստանը ներկայացնող Ալինա Չարաևան Պեկինում ընթացող China Open մրցաշարում տպավորիչ հաղթանակ է տարել աշխարհի թիվ 1 ռակետ Ելենա Ռիբակինայի նկատմամբ՝ գրանցելով հայկական թենիսի պատմության ամենանշանակալի արդյունքներից մեկը։

WTA-ի տվյալներով՝ Չարաևան դարձել է վարկանիշում ամենացածր դիրքը զբաղեցնող թենիսիստուհին, որին հաջողվել է առաջին սեթում պարտվելուց հետո հաղթել գործող աշխարհի թիվ 1 ռակետին։ Նա նաև ընդամենը իններորդ թենիսիստուհին է լավագույն հարյուրյակից դուրս, որը կարողացել է հաղթել աշխարհի առաջին ռակետին՝ WTA վարկանիշի ներդրումից ի վեր։ Ալինա Չարաևան 2026 թվականին, «Կերոն» զարգացման հիմնադրամի և Հայաստանի թենիսի ֆեդերացիայի աջակցությամբ, ստացել է Հայաստանի քաղաքացիություն, միացել «Կերոն»-ի «Տաղանդների ֆոնդ» ծրագրին և այժմ միջազգային մրցաշարերում ներկայացնում է Հայաստանը։ Այս հաղթանակը ևս մեկ կարևոր քայլ է հայկական թենիսի միջազգային ներկայության ուժեղացման ճանապարհին։

🇬🇧 A historic victory in the world of tennis

Representing Armenia, Alina Charaeva delivered an impressive victory over world No. 1 Elena Rybakina at the China Open in Beijing, marking one of the most significant achievements in the history of Armenian tennis.

According to the WTA, Charaeva became the lowest-ranked player ever to defeat a reigning world No. 1 after losing the opening set. She is also only the ninth player ranked outside the Top 100 to defeat the world No. 1 since the introduction of the WTA rankings.
In 2026, with the support of the Keron Development Foundation and the Tennis Federation of Armenia, Alina Charaeva received Armenian citizenship, joined Keron’s Talent Fund program, and now represents Armenia in international tournaments. This victory marks another important step toward strengthening Armenian tennis on the international stage.

Congratulations to Alina, and we wish her many more victories under the Armenian flag.

🇦🇲 Նոյեմբերի 18-ին «Կերոն» զարգացման հիմնադրամը Փարիզում կանցկացնի իր առաջին միջազգային գալա երեկոն՝ համախմբելով Հայաստանի բարեկամներին, բարերարներին, գործարարներին և միջազգային գործընկերներին մեկ ընդհանուր տեսլականի շուրջ։

Միջոցառման նախապատրաստական աշխատանքների շրջանակում Կերոնի ղեկավար կազմը աշխատանքային այցով մեկնել էր Փարիզ, որի շրջանակում հյուրընկալվեց Ֆրանսիայի Հանրապետությունում Հայաստանի Հանրապետության դեսպանատանը և հանդիպեց Ֆրանսիայում ՀՀ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Արման Խաչատրյանին։

Հանդիպման ժամանակ քննարկվեցին Keron Impact Gala-ի կազմակերպման և միջազգային գործընկերների ներգրավման շուրջ հարցեր:

🇬🇧 On November 18, Keron Development Foundation will host its first international gala in Paris — the Keron Impact Gala, bringing together friends of Armenia, philanthropists, business leaders, and international partners around a shared vision.

As part of the preparations for the event, Keron Development Foundation’s leadership team traveled to Paris for a working visit. During the visit, the team was welcomed at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in France and met with H.E. Arman Khachatryan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to France.

The meeting focused on the organization of the Keron Impact Gala, as well as opportunities to engage international partners and foster further collaboration.

🇦🇲 Այս ամիս շարքի շրջանակում այցելեցինք Երևանի կենտրոնում՝ Կասկադի հենց սրտում գտնվող Ռուսական արվեստի թանգարան, որտեղ ներկայացված է պրոֆեսոր Արամ Աբրահամյանի բացառիկ հավաքածուն։

Արամ Աբրահամյանը խորհրդային բժշկության ամենահայտնի վիրաբույժներից էր, սակայն բժշկությունից բացի ուներ ևս մեկ մեծ կիրք՝ 19-րդ դարի վերջի և 20-րդ դարի սկզբի ռուսական արվեստը։

🇬🇧 This month, as part of our series, we visited the Museum of Russian Art, located in the heart of Yerevan, right by the Cascade, where the exceptional collection of Professor Aram Abrahamyan is on display.

Aram Abrahamyan was one of the most renowned surgeons in Soviet medicine. Beyond medicine, however, he had another great passion: Russian art of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

🇦🇲 Սեպտեմբերի 23-ին APRI Forum 2026-ի շրջանակում «Կերոն» զարգացման հիմնադրամի գործադիր տնօրեն Վանանե Արարքցյանը մասնակցեց “Growing Our Talent, Trees, and Civic Space” խորագրով պանելային քննարկմանը։ Թեմայի առանցքում էին Հայաստանի երկարաժամկետ զարգացմանն ուղղված հարցեր՝ մարդկային կապիտալի զարգացումը, որակյալ կրթական և հանրային միջավայրերի ստեղծումը, համայնքների ամրապնդումն ու քաղաքային ենթակառուցվածքների զարգացումը։

Վանանե Արարքցյանը ներկայացրեց «Կերոն»-ի փորձն ու մոտեցումները՝ անդրադառնալով «Տաղանդների ֆոնդ» ծրագրին, ԵՊԲՀ գրադարանի՝ ժամանակակից կրթական կենտրոնի վերափոխման նախագծին և «Վերնատուն» ակումբի առաքելությանը։ Քննարկման կարևոր հարցերից մեկն էր նաև՝ ինչպիսի միջավայր պետք է ձևավորել Հայաստանում, որպեսզի տաղանդաշատ մարդիկ հնարավորություն ունենան ոչ միայն զարգանալ այստեղ, այլև ընտրեն ապրել, աշխատել, ստեղծել և իրենց ապագան կապել Հայաստանի հետ։

🇬🇧 On September 23, as part of APRI Forum 2026, Vanane Ararktsyan, Executive Director of the Keron Development Foundation, participated in the panel discussion titled “Growing Our Talent, Trees, and Civic Space.” The discussion focused on key priorities for Armenia’s long-term development, including strengthening human capital, creating high-quality educational and public spaces, empowering communities, and developing urban infrastructure.

Vanane Ararktsyan shared Keron’s experience and approach, highlighting the Talent Pool Program, the transformation of the Yerevan State Medical University Library into a modern educational hub, and the mission of the VERNATOUN powered by Keron. One of the key questions explored during the discussion was what kind of environment Armenia needs to create so that talented individuals can not only grow and develop here, but also choose to live, work, create, and build their future in Armenia.
