FAR's Children's Support Centre Foundation (CSCF) is the only crisis intervention centre all over Armenia. It is a short–term service for children at risk and in difficult situations to decrease the social risk of under aged children and their families. The Centre helps both the child and the family to ease an existing social and psychological tension in their lives by providing a multidisciplina
ry support through mobilizing and utilizing various resources. The Centre services vulnerable children aged 3-18, from all regions, who are:
Abandoned, neglected, left without parental care
Abused
School dropouts
Involved in labor market at an early age
Behavioral problems
Maltreated children
Victims of sexual exploitation and labor exploitation, trafficking
Children of the street and children on the street (homeless, beggars, vagrants, retailers, etc.) In conflict with or in contact with the law
Addicted to drugs and/or alcohol
Affected by conflicts and disasters
Asylum seekers and refugees
The Centre provides children with psycho–social and medical treatment, residential care, etc. Therapeutic and correctional work for children is provided in a safe and loving environment by the cross–functional specialized staff of the center. Afterwards a suitable final placement is found for the child based on her/his best interest. The Centre is acting as a “door–keeper” for children at high risk, preventing them from institutionalization. Its main goal is to strengthen the families and ensure the children's reunification with their biological parents. The Children's Centre promotes and strengthens its services for families and children by:
