🇮🇳 Hope from : 17-year-old trafficking survivor builds a secure future ✨

A young girl rescued from exploitation discovers healing, education, and a dignified path to economic independence.

At just 14 years old, Gangi was deceived by a woman from a neighboring village who promised her a job, only to traffic her into unpaid domestic service in Delhi. For six grueling months, she was isolated, mistreated, and forced to work long hours.

When Christian Solidarity International's local partners tracked her down and reunited her with her family in 2024, she was deeply traumatized and afraid.

Today, her life is completely transformed. Thanks to CSI’s consistent counseling and a dedicated social worker, Gangi grew in confidence, completed her final year of school, and has now entered professional seamstress training to build a self-sustaining livelihood.

The scourge of human trafficking remains a catastrophic crisis across India, where children from poor, rural families are disproportionately targeted by predatory networks.

Lured by false promises of respectable employment, thousands of boys and girls are systematically sold into forced labor, sweatshops, and domestic servitude every year, leaving them entirely cut off from their families and stripped of their basic human rights.

Compounding this vulnerability, Christian and tribal minorities face an escalating crisis of systemic persecution. Driven by radical nationalist movements, they are increasingly targeted with physical assaults, church closures, and weaponized anti-conversion laws, leaving Christian communities isolated and highly exposed to traffickers.

Despite these immense structural challenges, CSI and our local partners refuse to stop fighting for the vulnerable.

Last year alone, CSI helped rescue 100 children and adolescents from the clutches of human traffickers. For survivors who cannot safely return home, CSI operates dedicated rehabilitation centers – currently caring for dozens of young girls – providing a safe sanctuary, comprehensive after-care, and professional skills training to secure their freedom permanently.

🇺🇳 UN side event: The right of return can halt Azerbaijan's genocidal impunity 🇦🇲

On October 1st, Christian Solidarity International delivered an oral statement during the 63rd Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

🇺🇳 : CSI condemns "Peace Deals" involving Christian abductions in Nigeria 🇳🇬

Christian Solidarity International has delivered a sharp oral statement at the 63rd Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, warning that mass violence by armed militias poses an existential threat to religious freedom in .

CSI’s Joel Veldkamp highlighted the crushing human toll of an organized campaign designed to forcefully drive out Christian populations across Nigeria's Middle Belt – including the states of Plateau, Kaduna, Benue, and Taraba.

Since 2019, these militias have killed over 22,000 Christians and displaced millions with total impunity, including a brutal September 13 assault that slaughtered 13 Christians in Plateau State.

The statement brought global attention to horrific preliminary findings published by the UN Special Rapporteur for freedom of religion or belief, Professor Nazila Ghanea, following her recent field visit to Nigeria.

Her report confirms that armed groups are forcing rural, defenseless Christian communities into predatory "peace deals". Under these coercive agreements, militias seize unconditional access to local farmland and are explicitly permitted to "take any woman that they want from the hamlet."

CSI fully corroborates these horrific accounts of systemic land theft and sexual violence. We call on the international human rights community and the Nigerian government to immediately end their silence, disrupt these terror networks, and take decisive action to protect vulnerable minorities in the Middle Belt.
