Թումոն 12-ից 18 տարեկան պատանիների համար նախատեսված անվճար կրթական կենտրոն է: TUMO was founded in 2011 on the initiative of the Simonian Educational Foundation.

Թումոն յուրատեսակ կրթական փորձառություն է, որում 12-18 տարեկան պատանիներն իրենք են գծում իրենց կրթական ուղին` անցնելով ինքնուսուցման, դասընթացների և աշխատարանների փուլերով: Պատանիները հմտանում են անիմացիայի, ծրագրավորման, գրաֆիկական դիզայնի, ռոբոտաշինության և 10 այլ կրթական ոլորտներում: Կենտրոնը հիմնադրվել է 2011 թվականին` Սիմոնյան կրթական հիմնադրամի նախաձեռնությամբ:

մ, Դիլիջանում, Գյումրիում և Ստեփանակերտում: Հայաստանից դուրս կենտրոններ կան Փարիզում, Բեյրութում, Մոսկվայում, Տիրանայում և Բեռլինում: Գործում է նաև 2 մինի Թումո` Թումո տուփ` Գավառում և Բերդում:

The TUMO Center for Creative Technologies is a non-profit education program where tech and art merge to provide teens a competitive edge in a digital world. Through the TUMO program, teenagers between the ages of 12 and 18 gain cutting-edge skills in animation, programming, graphic design, robotics, and 10 other learning targets. The learning program consists of self-learning activities supported by coaches, hands-on workshops taught by the center's specialized staff, and project labs led by industry leaders from across the globe. Currently, there are four TUMO centers in Armenia, which educate more than 20,000 active students. Internationally, TUMO has centers in Paris, Beirut, Moscow, Berlin, Tirana, Kyiv, and Lyon. There are also fully-equipped mini TUMOs known as TUMO Boxes in the towns of Gavar, Berd, Kapan, Sevan, Vayk, and Martakert with more underway.

One month from today, the TUMO community will gather in Los Angeles to celebrate 15 years of TUMO.

Across Armenia, more than 25,000 students attend TUMO each week through six centers and over 40 TUMO Boxes. The goal is to reach 60,000 students each week, bringing world-class technology and design education closer to young people throughout the country.

Ուղիղ մի ամսից Թումոյի համայնքը կհավաքվի Լոս Անջելեսում՝ տոնելու Թումոյի 15-ամյա՜կը։

Հայաստանում ավելի քան 25 հազար ուսանող ամեն շաբաթ հաճախում են Թումոյի վեց կենտրոններ և ավելի քան 40 Թումո տուփեր։ Մեր նպատակն է ուսանողների թիվը հասցնել 60 հազարի՝ այդպիսով ամբողջ երկրով մեկ պատանիներին հասանելի դարձնել ստեղծարար տեխնոլոգիաների ոլորտի ամենաբարձր մակարդակի կրթությունը։

15 տարի առաջ այս օրերին բոլորը սկսեցին խոսել Թումոյի մասին… Թումո Երևանի բացումը տպավորվել է վառ գույներով ու իհարկե անմոռանալի համերգով, որի գլխավոր աստղը Սերժ Թանկյանն էր.

«Երբ Թումոն բացվեց, այնպիսի հույս բերեց Հայաստան, որ երբևէ չէր եղել։ 15 տարի անց տեսնում ենք դրա արդյունքը։ Ինձ համար մեծ պատիվ էր հենց սկզբից այստեղ լինել ու երաժշտական ծրագրի հիմքը դնել՝ ելույթ ունենալով Թումոյի բացմանը և հետո տեսնել դրա անցած ճանապարհը»։

So… are we IPOing next? 👀

Not quite. But on TUMO’s 15th birthday, we just appeared on the Nasdaq Tower in New York City’s Times Square with a question at the heart of our approach to education:

What if students were free to walk away?

At TUMO, they are free to move between programming, filmmaking, music, design and more, students shape their own paths and discover that art and technology are not opposites, but essential parts of the same creative process. The freedom to walk away is what makes choosing to stay so powerful.

Մի՞թե Թումոյի բաժնետոմսերն են հայտնվելու բորսայում 👀

Թումոյի 15-ամյակի օրը մենք հայտնվեցինք Նյու Յորքի Թայմս Սքուեր հրապարակի հռչակավոր Nasdaq Tower-ի էկրանին, բայց դա կապ չունի բաժնետոմսերի, բորսայի ու IPO-ի հետ։ Պարզապես անցորդներին դիմեցինք մի հարցով, որն ընկած է կրթության հանդեպ մեր մոտեցման հիմքում․
Ի՞նչ կլինի, եթե աշակերտները կարողանան հեռանալ ցանկացած պահի։

Թումոյում նրանք ազատ են անցնելու ծրագրավորումից կինոարտադրություն, երաժշտությունից՝ դիզայն և այլ ոլորտներ՝ ինքնուրույն ձևավորելով իրենց կրթական ուղին։ Այդ ճանապարհին նրանք բացահայտում են, որ արվեստն ու տեխնոլոգիան հակադիր աշխարհներ չեն, այլ նույն ստեղծարար գործընթացի անբաժան մասեր։ Հեռանալու ազատությունն է, որ մնալու ընտրությունն այսքան կարևոր է դարձնում։

Թե ինչպես սիրելի ֆիլմերի սիրելի տեսարանները վերածվեցին նկարազարդումների թումոյական Ուրիշի հուլիսի ընթացքում 🎬

Նկարազարդող Քելան Ջեթի աշխատարանի ընթացքում, որի պորտֆոլիոյում կգտնեք այնպիսի խոշոր նախագծեր, ինչպիսիք են Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse-ը և Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem-ը, Երևանի թումոցիներն ուսումնասիրել են գույնի և լույսի հիմունքները, վերլուծել են տարբեր ֆիլմերի կադրեր և կինեմատոգրաֆիկ կոմպոզիցիաներ։

Նկարելով rough CG layout-ների վրա, ստեղծելով լույս ու մթնոլորտ՝ նրանք ստացել են նկարազարդումներ՝ ոգեշնչված հայտնի ֆիլմերից։

How scenes from beloved films became illustrations during TUMO’s Other July 🎬

During a workshop led by illustrator Kellan Jett — whose portfolio includes major productions such as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem — TUMO students in Yerevan explored the fundamentals of color and light while analyzing film stills and cinematic compositions.

Building on rough CG layouts, students created illustrations by shaping light, atmosphere, and mood. The result is a collection of artwork inspired by iconic scenes from well-known films.

Արժանի պարգև՝ Թումոյի հիմնադիր Սեմ Սիմոնյանին։ 🇦🇲 🏅

Հայաստանի Հանրապետության նախագահ Վահագն Խաչատուրյանը Սեմին հանձնեց «Հայրենիքին մատուցած ծառայությունների համար» 1-ին աստիճանի շքանշանը՝ կրթության, գիտության, մշակույթի, տնտեսության զարգացման և հայապահպանության գործում ունեցած երկարամյա ու նշանակալի ավանդի համար։

Արարողության ընթացքում նախագահը պատմեց նաև Թումոյի հետ իր անձնական կապի մասին․ նրա մանկությունն անցել է հենց այն թաղամասում, որտեղ տարիներ անց կառուցվել է Թումոն։ Նախագահի մանկության թաղամասն այսօր մի վայր է, որտեղ հազարավոր պատանիներ կառուցում են իրենց ապագան։

Նախագահը նաև ընդգծեց, որ հատկապես հպարտ է՝ տեսնելով, թե ինչպես է Թումոյի կրթական ծրագիրը հաջողությամբ Հայաստանից արտահանվում և տարածվում աշխարհով մեկ՝ հասնելով մեր երկրի սահմաններից շատ հեռու ապրող պատանիներին։

Սեմ Սիմոնյանի թեկնածությունը պետական պարգևի համար ներկայացրել է ՀՀ բարձր տեխնոլոգիական արդյունաբերության նախարարությունը։

Ընդունելով պարգևը՝ Սեմը այն կիսեց իր կնոջ՝ Սիլվա Սիմոնյանի հետ՝ Թումոն և դրա շուրջ ձևավորված ամեն ինչ միասին կառուցած իր գործընկերոջ։

Շնորհավորում ենք, Սեմ և Սիլվա, ու շնորհակալություն՝ Հայաստանի պատանիների ապագան շարունակաբար ավելի մեծ պատկերացնելու համար։ 💫

A well-deserved honor for TUMO founder Sam Simonian. 🇦🇲 🏅

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan presented Sam with the First-Degree Order “For Services to the Motherland,” recognizing his long-standing contributions to education, science, culture, economic development, and the preservation of Armenian identity.

During the ceremony, President Khachaturyan shared a personal connection to TUMO, speaking about spending his childhood in the very neighborhood where TUMO would later be built. A park from his childhood is now a place where thousands of young people are building their futures.

The president also emphasized that he is especially proud to see TUMO’s educational program become one of Armenia’s most successful global exports, reaching young people far beyond the country’s borders.

Sam was nominated for the state honor by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia.

Accepting the award, Sam shared the honor with his wife, Sylva Simonian, his partner in building TUMO and everything that has grown around it.

Congratulations, Sam and Sylva, and thank you for continuing to imagine bigger for Armenia’s young people. 💫

Անգլերեն և հայերեն դարձվածքները՝ ներկայացված արաբական գեղագրության միջոցով ✨🖋️

Այս Ուրիշ հուլիսին Դուբայից ժամանած դիզայներ և գեղագիր Իբրահիմ Զաքիի աշխատարանի ընթացքում Երևանի թումոցիներն ուսումնասիրել են արաբական գեղագրության պատմությունն ու զարգացման փուլերը, դասական ու ժամանակակից գրատեսակները, սովորել են վերաիմաստավորել տառաձևերը և գեղագրությունը վերածել ժամանակակից պաստառային դիզայնի։

English and Armenian idioms reimagined through Arabic calligraphy ✨🖋️

This past Alt July, TUMO students in Yerevan explored the art of Arabic calligraphy during a learning lab led by Dubai-based designer and calligrapher Ibrahim Zaki.

Throughout the lab, they learned about the history and evolution of Arabic calligraphy, explored both classical and contemporary styles, experimented with reinterpreting letterforms, and transformed calligraphic art into modern poster designs.
