This year together with our partners from Sweden “Seek you Seek you” we created a broadcast about the climate change and global warming issues.
You can watch the films and videos created by children from Sweden and Armenia and share your opinions with us.

This broadcast is created by children and young people in Sweden and Armenia together with the organizations Seek You Seek You and Manana Youth Center.

"Wake up Europe" editorial project organised by "Cafebabel", "Manana Center" and "Are We Europe" has started on Thursday. During five days 20+ participants from all over Europe and Armenia will attend masterclasses in journalistic storytelling, podcasting, photojournalism and filmmaking, data journalism and design. They will produce multimedia reports on the ground in Yerevan. The content will then be published on a website imagined by the participants and the organisers.

Manana Center has organized a media workshop for new reporters in Yerevan. Young people from Yerevan and neighbouring communities discovered new opportunities to participate in the civil life of their communities. More enthusiastic ones deepened their knowledge and practical skills in journalism, photojournalism and filmmaking during the workshop.

The training course (Erasmus+ youth exchange) “Media Behind The Scenes” organised by The European Dialog and European Youth Press was held from April 24th to May 2nd in Stará Lesná, Slovakia. 5 representatives from Manana Center were among 40 young media makers from 8 different countries that participated in this event. During the training they have learned how to reflect on and combat manipulation practices in the (mass)media, how to think critically and be able to assess information in non-biased and non-stereotyped way, as well as worked and networked in the multicultural environment and have learned about the media situation in different countries from their peers.

“Media Moving Forward: Reporting on and Using New Technologies” training course took place in Graz, Austria, from 26 November to 2 December. 22 youngsters from 8 different countries, among them Diana, Mariam and Aneta, who were representing “Manana” center, took part not only in the main training course, but also had a chance to be part of the European Youth Award festival (EYA). During the EYA the participants learned about digital technologies that are used for social good and how to report on them, they have also met and interviewed the developers of the winning projects. During the whole week participants learned new methods of data visualisation in media, as well as improved their interviewing, photography and video-making skills.

On December 12, the team of Manana Center met with the children of Shogh Day Center. We went to Shogh and had an interesting meeting with the 10-14 year-olds. Together with them we watched our short films about children's rights. We also presented the Manana Center, the website of Young reporters network of Armenia 17.am. We also gave them different issues of Khabarbazik magazine, hoping that one day they will join our group of reporters.

On November 27, Naregatsi Art Institute hosted the screening of short documentary films created by the students of Manana Center’s youth film studio. The screening was within the framework of the Third Republic Integrative Festival "Hand on Hand", The festival was organized by Artconcept international Association in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Armenia. On December 3, within the framework of the closing ceremony of the festival in the UN Armenia, there was a screening of Manana Center’s short documentaries dedicated to people with disabilities. The festival also hosted an exhibition-sale of children's handicrafts.

“How to Read Media in the Post-Truth Era” training course took place on 12-19 of November, in Berlin. About 45 participants from 8 countries were participating in this program among them were 5 young journalists from Manana Center.
The trainings were about media literacy, about how to read media and think critically. The participants enhanced not only their knowledge about fake news, media manipulations, data checking and data-driven analysis, but also their communication, team working and problem solving skills. The young journalists were also working in groups, using their theoretical knowledge in practical projects.
