Urartu Football Club was founded on 20 January 1992, representing the region of Kotayk. Banants was named after the native village of the founder - Sargis Israelyan. In 2019 the club was renamed and now acts under the name Urartu Football Club. Urartu FC won the first title of champion of Armenia in 2013/14 season. In the seasons 1992, 2007 and 2015/16 years Urartu FC became the owner of the Arme

«Ուրարտու» ֆուտբոլային ակումբը հիմնադրել է 1992 թվականի հունվարի 20-ին` ներկայացնելով Կոտայքի մարզը: Առաջին անունը եղել է «Բանանց», անվանակոչվել է հիմնադրի` Սարգիս Իսրաելյանի հարազատ գյուղի անունով: 2019 թվականի օգոստոսին ակումբը անվանափոխվել է և հանդես է գալիս «Ուրարտու» անվամբ:
2013/14 մրցաշրջանում «Ուրարտուն» առաջին անգամ արժանացավ Հայատանի չեմպիոնի տիտղոսին: 1992, 2007 և 2015/16 մրցաշրջաններում «Ուրարտուն» դարձել է Հայաստանի գավաթակիր, իսկ 2014 թվականին նվաճել է Հակոբ Տոնոյանի անվան Սուպերգավաթը:
