Being established in 2010, AEGEE-Yerevan / Yerevan European Students' Forum already has about 70 active members with various educational backgrounds and interests. The main aim and mission of AEGEE-Yerevan is to boost the participation and involvement of the Armenian youth in the European youth initiatives, to inform the Armenian youth about the European formal and non-formal educational programs,
to give the young people an opportunity to experience various European cultures, as well as to allow the young people to get to know with the best existing practices in the spheres of democracy, active citizenship, European awareness and accordingly try to enroot them in Armenia. AEGEE-Yerevan through its activities tries to take the role of a unique “bridge”, which connects the Armenian youth and the youth sector of the European Union. In the recent years AEGEE-Yerevan has organized more than 40 local youth projects, in which 2000 students and youth workers from Yerevan and other regions of Armenia had a chance to participate. Information about events of the organization is spread via all possible networks and is always available to youth. Everyday coordination of the activities of AEGEE-Yerevan is implemented by the Local Board, which members develop the local projects and contribute to the development of the long term strategy of the Organization. The activities of the Local Board are based on volunteer principle, thus the Board Members are not paid for their activities. The activities and projects of AEGEE-Yerevan are officially supported by the EU Delegation to Armenia and the EU Centre to Armenia
