On March 2, Mr. Narek Hovakimyan, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, and Ms. Fatou Haidara, Deputy to the Director General of UNIDO, had a meeting at the headquarters of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Vienna.
The meeting took place within the framework of the European Union-funded Quality Infrastructure in Armenia project, implemented by .
During the discussions, the parties reviewed the progress achieved under the project, highlighting Armenia’s successful integration into international metrology systems and the continued strengthening of the legal and institutional framework of the sector in line with international best practices.

🇦🇲 Մարտի 2-ին Ավստրիայի Հանրապետության մայրաքաղաք Վիեննայում՝ ՄԱԿ-ի Արդյունաբերական զարգացման կազմակերպություն (ՄԱԱԶԿ) կենտրոնական գրասենյակում, տեղի է ունեցել հանդիպում Հայաստանի Հանրապետության էկոնոմիկայի նախարարի տեղակալ Նարեկ Հովակիմյանի և ՄԱԿ-ի Արդյունաբերական զարգացման կազմակերպության գլխավոր տնօրենի տեղակալ Ֆաթու Հայդարայի միջև:
Հանդիպումը կազմակերպվել էր Եվրոպական միության կողմից ֆինանսավորվող և ՄԱԱԶԿ-ի կողմից իրականացվող «Աջակցություն որակի ենթակառուցվածքին Հայաստանում» ծրագրի շրջանակում։ Հանդիպման ընթացքում կողմերը քննարկել են ծրագրի շրջանակում արձանագրված առաջընթացը՝ ընդգծելով Հայաստանի հաջող ինտեգրումը միջազգային չափագիտական համակարգերին և ոլորտի իրավական ու ինստիտուցիոնալ դաշտի շարունակական կատարելագործումը՝ միջազգային լավագույն փորձին համահունչ։
Նշվել է, որ ծրագրի շրջանակում ցուցաբերված փորձագիտական աջակցությունը կարևոր դեր է ունեցել որակի ենթակառուցվածքի զարգացման ռազմավարական ուղղությունների ձևավորման և համապատասխան փաստաթղթերի մշակման գործում։ Իրականացված աշխատանքների արդյունքում զգալիորեն ամրապնդվել են Հայաստանի չափագիտական կարողությունները՝ ստեղծելով միջազգային ժամանակակից պահանջներին համապատասխանող չորս տրամաչափարկման լաբորատորիա, զարգացնելով ոլորտի մասնագիտական ներուժը և ապահովելով միջազգային հավատարմագրում երեք հիմնական ուղղություններով։
Ընդգծվել է, որ իրականացված քայլերը նպաստում են ազգային համակարգերի մրցունակության և միջազգային վստահելիության շարունակական բարձրացմանը, ինչպես նաև ընդլայնում են Հայաստանի միջազգային գործընկերության շրջանակները։
Կողմերը վերահաստատել են համագործակցության շարունակականության և խորացման պատրաստակամությունը՝ նշելով, որ Հայաստանի Հանրապետության և ՄԱԱԶԿ-ի միջև ձևավորված արդյունավետ գործընկերությունը կարևոր հիմք է հետագա համատեղ նախաձեռնությունների իրականացման համար։

The meeting took place within the framework of the European Union-funded “Support to Quality Infrastructure in Armenia” project, implemented by UNIDO. During the discussions, the parties reviewed the progress achieved under the project, highlighting Armenia’s successful integration into international metrology systems and the continued strengthening of the legal and institutional framework of the sector in line with international best practices.
The sides emphasized that the expert support provided under the project has played a key role in shaping the strategic directions for the development of Armenia’s quality infrastructure and in drafting relevant policy documents. As a result of the project’s interventions, Armenia’s metrology capacities have been significantly strengthened, including the establishment of four modern calibration laboratories compliant with international standards, the development of professional expertise, and the achievement of international accreditation in three key measurement areas.
The parties emphasized that these achievements contribute to enhancing the competitiveness and international credibility of national systems, while also expanding Armenia’s international partnerships.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing and deepening cooperation, noting that the effective partnership established between the Republic of Armenia and UNIDO provides a strong foundation for future joint initiatives.
