Grateful to the panelists of "Mental Health is Health: How Communities Shape Our Well-Being," the first event of Armenian Mental Health Week in Greater Boston.
Thank you for your insights, leadership, and commitment to strengthening mental health in our communities.
Special thanks to our moderator, Sarah Lambert Derian, an Armenian By Choice, community builder, and exceptional supporter.
During the event, we explored how mental health is defined and perceived across individual, community, professional, and policy contexts, expanding the conversation beyond common assumptions and toward a more comprehensive understanding of mental health as part of everyday life.
We also examined how communities shape mental health outcomes, and how mental health, in turn, shapes communities, highlighting the real-life impact of unmet needs on social dynamics, public systems, and institutional responses, and emphasizing our shared responsibility in supporting well-being.
Finally, we brought the discussion into the Armenian context, reflecting on mental health across Armenia and the diaspora, and underscoring the importance of collaboration among public institutions, professional networks, and community-based initiatives.
