"Nor Luyce" Mentoring Center for Youth

Building a brighter Future www.norluyce.com Nor Luyce organization provides mentoring to teen-girls in area orphanages.

Our organization focus is on children who are fourteen to seventeen years old because they are socially vulnerable; they have little family support, they tend not to have long term planning skills; and they are facing directly the challenges of establishing a life outside their orphanage. The number of these children is 75 in each orphanage, while in Gyumri there are three orphanages. Our organiza

tion helps them prepare for the transition by providing a relationship with a trusted adult and exposure to the cultural, educational and work worlds outside the orphanage. This exposure is designed to make them aware of possible career choices and of the necessary preparation. The program logic is based on the assumption that successful choices require a trusted adult, who can help them to explore their environment and provide good advice and experiences which will allow them to test their ideas. Nowadays young people have to cope with many personal and social pressures. Getting emotional support and social experiences from mentors will help the children overcome the problems and challenges they face.

Օգոստոսի 12-ին՝ Երիտասարդության միջազգային օրվա կապակցությամբ, Գյումրու համայնքապետարանը կազմակերպել էր ոչ ֆորմալ կրթական հնարավորությունների հարթակ, որտեղ Գյումրիում գործունեություն ծավալող կազմակերպությունները հնարավորություն ունեցան հանրությանը ներկայացնելու իրենց ծրագրերն ու նախաձեռնությունները։

Նոր Լույսը նույնպես մասնակցում էր միջոցառմանը։ Միջոցառման ընթացքում մեր մենթիները Գյումրու բնակիչներին ներկայացրին ծրագրի գործունեությունն ու նպատակները, ինչպես նաև ինտերակտիվ վարժանքների միջոցով հնարավորություն տվեցին մասնակիցներին ստանալ փոքրիկ նվերներ։

Հատուկ շնորհակալություն ենք հայտնում Գյումրու համայնքապետարանին՝ նման հնարավորություն ընձեռելու և գեղեցիկ ու հետաքրքիր միջոցառում կազմակերպելու համար։

On International Youth Day, Nor Luyce joined Gyumri Municipality’s platform celebrating non-formal education and youth opportunities.

Our amazing mentees took center stage - introducing Nor Luyce, sharing our mission, and challenging visitors with fun riddles and puzzles. And yes, there were prizes for those who cracked the answers!

A big thank you to Gyumri Municipality for bringing organizations and young people together for such a fun and inspiring day!

Նախնական մենթորինգ վերապատրաստումների հաջորդ հանդիպումը «Մեկ քայլ առաջ» թեմայով էր։ Հանդիպման ընթացքում մեր մենթորները հնարավորություն ունեցան կարճ ժամանակով հայտնվել մեկ այլ անձի դերում, հասկանալ նրա ապրումներն ու հույզերը և վերանայել իրենց վերաբերմունքը հասարակության տարբեր ներկայացուցիչների նկատմամբ։

During our "One Step Forward" pre-mentoring training session, mentors stepped beyond their own experiences and into the lives of others. By exploring different perspectives and emotions, they reflected on their own assumptions and deepened their understanding of diversity, inclusion, and compassion.

Նորաստեղծ մենթորինգ խմբային հանդիպման հերթական թեման հանդուրժողականությունն էր։ Հանդիպման ընթացքում մենթիները քննարկեցին հանդուրժողականության էությունը, դրա հիմքում ընկած արժեքները և այն քայլերը, որոնք կօգնեն իրենց դառնալ ավելի հանդուրժող։

The latest mentoring group meeting focused on the power of tolerance. Together, newly joined mentees explored what tolerance truly means, discussed the values that inspire acceptance and respect, and reflected on how they can become more open-minded, compassionate, and understanding in their everyday lives.

Նախնական մենթորինգ վերապատրաստումները շարունակվում են։ Այս անգամ մենթորները քննարկեցին «Թիմային աշխատանք»թեման։ Հանդիպման ընթացքում նրանք գործնական վարժանքների միջոցով բացահայտեցին արդյունավետ համագործակցության կարևորությունը թիմային աշխատանքում, ինչպես նաև վերջինիս առանձնահատկություններն ու դերը։

Our pre-mentoring training sessions continue! This time, mentors explored the power of teamwork through interactive exercises, discovering the key elements of effective collaboration and its essential role in building strong, meaningful connections.

Նոր Լույսի շրջանավարտները հավաքվել էին անչափ ջերմ և գեղեցիկ միջավայրում՝ միասին քննարկելու ինքնախնամքի կարևորությունը։ Հանդիպման ընթացքում նրանք խոսեցին ինքնախնամքի տարբեր տեսակների մասին՝ ընդգծելով յուրաքանչյուրի կյանքում վերջինիս անփոխարինելի լինելու հանգամանքը։

Nor Luyce’s alumni came together in a warm and welcoming space to explore the true meaning of self-care. Together, they discussed why it matters, discovered its many forms, and reflected on the powerful role it plays in living a healthy, balanced, and fulfilling life.

Our newly joined mentees continue their group meetings at Nor Luyce! This week, they explored the power of friendship, reflected on their experiences, and learned what it takes to build healthy, trusting relationships that help us thrive.

In our latest pre-mentoring training, mentors explored their core values, uncovered their priorities, and reflected on the expectations they bring into the mentoring experience. A strong mentor starts with a strong sense of self.

Նախնական մենթորինգ վերապատրաստումների հաջորդ թեման փակ տարածքում ապրող դեռահասի հոգեբանությունն էր։ Այս հանդիպման ընթացքում ապագա մենթորները փորձեցին ավելի խորությամբ հասկանալ նման պայմաններում մեծացող դեռահասների ներաշխարհը, նրանց հուզական կարիքները, դժվարություններն ու այն կարևոր դերը, որը կարող է ունենալ մենթորը նրանց կյանքում։

Our pre-mentor training journey continued with a powerful session on the psychology of adolescents growing up in foster care.

Together, our future mentors explored the emotional world of these young people - their experiences, challenges, strengths, and unmet needs. Most importantly, they discovered how a caring, consistent mentor can become a source of trust, stability, and hope during a critical stage of life.

Նախնական մենթորինգ վերապատրաստումն այս անգամ տեղի ունեցավ առցանց հարթակում և նվիրված էր տրավմատիկ փորձառություն ունեցող երեխաների հետ աշխատանքի առանձնահատկություններին։ Վերապատրաստման ընթացքում ապագա մենթորները ձեռք բերեցին կարևոր գիտելիքներ և գործիքներ, որոնք կօգնեն նրանց ավելի արդյունավետ աշխատանք իրականացնել։

Our latest online pre-mentor training session focused on supporting children who have experienced trauma.

During the session, our future mentors explored the impact of trauma on a child's development, behavior, and relationships while gaining practical tools and strategies to provide safe, empathetic, and effective support.

By strengthening their trauma-informed approach, our mentors are becoming better equipped to build trusting relationships and make a lasting difference in the lives of the children they mentor.
