Today we wrapped up our 8th and final meeting at the John Galt School Armenia! 📘✨
This session was dedicated to Anthem by Ayn Rand and was led by our lecturer, Naira Iritsyan.

Participants were actively involved throughout the discussion—exploring the characters, key moments, and the central theme of the book: the powerful contrast between individualism and collectivism.

Grateful for everyone’s energy and thoughtful insights throughout this journey! 🙌📚

✨ Another Insightful Session Completed at the John Galt School!

Today’s lecture was dedicated to the topic “What Is Knowledge? Objectivism and Epistemology,” led by Stephen Hicks, philosopher at the Atlas Society.

Dr. Hicks guided participants through one of the most fundamental questions in philosophy—how we know what we know. The session explored key Objectivist principles of reason, concepts, and certainty, helping participants understand how knowledge is formed, validated, and applied in everyday life.

Our participants were actively engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and left with a deeper appreciation of epistemology and its importance in shaping a rational worldview.

🧠 Another step forward in our journey of learning and thinking clearly.
Looking forward to our next session!

✨ Our Fourth Lecture is Complete!
The John Galt School has successfully completed its fourth session, dedicated to “Love, Altruism, and Selfishness from the Objectivist Point of View.”
The discussion was led by Naira Iritsyan, one of the top graduates of the John Galt School of Armenia and an active member of the Ayn Rand Center Armenia. Naira has been deeply engaged in studying and teaching Ayn Rand’s philosophy, sharing her passion for Objectivism through various lectures, book clubs, and international programs.
💬 During the session, participants actively explored profound questions:
– What does it mean to love rationally?
– Is altruism truly a moral virtue?
– How does Objectivism define selfishness as a moral ideal?
The discussion was dynamic and inspiring, filled with thoughtful reflections and lively exchanges of ideas.
As Ayn Rand reminds us:
“To love is to value. Only a rationally selfish man, a man of self-esteem, is capable of love.”
“The choice is not self-sacrifice or domination, but independence or dependence.”

Our opening session was led by Melanie Hovhannisyan, who delivered an insightful lecture on Ayn Rand’s life and an Introduction to Objectivism — exploring the foundations of Rand’s philosophy of reason, individualism, and rational self-interest.
💡 Participants delved into Rand’s intellectual journey and the key principles that define Objectivism — from the virtue of rationality to the moral meaning of productive achievement.
A bit about our lecturer:
Melanie Hovhannisyan is a linguist and translator with several years of experience in youth work, tutoring, and coaching. She was one of the top graduates of John Galt School Armenia (2022), after which she became a lecturer at the Ayn Rand Center Armenia (ARCA). Melanie has a deep interest in Objectivism, particularly in the areas of capitalism, morality, rationality, and related intellectual movements. She has also facilitated a reading group on Leonard Peikoff’s The Ominous Parallels. Her strong grasp of philosophy, combined with her skill in articulating and sharing rational ideas, continues to advance the principles of Objectivism.
We’re just getting started — and we’re excited for the sessions ahead as we continue to explore the ideas that shape a rational and free society!
