The CareConnect project concluded with a final event held at the Sheraton Hotel in Tirana. All four grant recipients, Emanuel Mission, Hope for the Future, Diakonia Foundation and CODE Partners, were present, alongside the ISP project team and a representative of GIZ. The event included a briefing on the project's overall progress and activities, followed by presentations from each of the four organisations, who shared the outcomes of their work, the challenges they faced, the stories they gathered, and the experience they gained throughout implementation.

We look forward to building on this experience and continuing to support communities affected by migration in the chapters ahead.

We successfully concluded the Pogradec training sessions under the CareConnect initiative with Module 5 (Project Planning and Budgeting) and Module 6 (Monitoring and Evaluation).

Module 5 strengthened participants’ skills in project design, needs assessment, budgeting, and financial reporting, while Module 6 focused on monitoring and evaluation tools, including data management, outcome measurement, and qualitative and quantitative reporting.

The day also featured an interactive role-play exercise, where participants stepped into the roles of different organizations facing operational and coordination challenges, encouraging exchange of experiences, reflection, and shared learning.

🌟 Empowering Local Communities through the CareConnect Initiative in Pogradec and Korce 🌟
This December, we had the pleasure of hosting another training session as part of the CareConnect initiative, bringing together 20 dedicated participants from local NGOs, Municipality of Pogradec and community actors across Pogradec, Korçë, and Ersekë.
Our focus on Building Partnerships between CSOs and Local Governments culminated in a dynamic day of collaboration and hands-on learning with Module 4: Strengthening Local Partnerships for Sustainability.
Training Highlights:
Collaborative Learning: Participants shared valuable experiences, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Strengthening Networks: We emphasized the importance of engaging community leaders, local businesses, and non-profits to support migrant communities effectively.
Interactive Discussions: Utilizing case studies and role-playing allowed us to explore real-world applications of partnership strategies.
Problem-Solving Sessions: Breakout groups enabled participants to identify and address specific community challenges together.
Sustainability Focus: Discussions centered around ensuring ongoing partnerships through shared goals and mutual benefits.
The diverse mix of perspectives enriched our discussions and laid a strong foundation for future collaboration.

🌍💚 Finalising our journey on Sustainable Finance with students in Shkoder!

After a month of intensive collaboration with our entrepreneurial expert, five student teams successfully developed startup ideas that place ESG principles at the core of their projects—combining innovation, responsibility, and long-term impact.

🌿 Meet the innovative ideas developed by our students:

• Wander Trails Shkodra – Creates authentic tourism experiences by connecting local culture, history, and gastronomy with active walking and cycling tours, promoting sustainable and community-based tourism.

• SandBox – A digital platform that connects Albanian startups with local and international investors through verification, intelligent filtering, and smart matchmaking, increasing visibility and access to structured financing.

• Innovation Center 3D – An innovative space in Shkoder that enables students, startups, and small businesses to turn ideas into prototypes using 3D technology, offering affordable access and professional support.

• Digital Portfolio – A digital platform linking young talents with local businesses by showcasing real skills through interactive profiles and facilitating employment based on the needs of the Albanian labor market.

• Green Landscape – A business that cultivates and supplies decorative plants for indoor and outdoor spaces, while providing professional consultancy and after-sales support to create aesthetic, functional, and sustainable environments.

🌟 Empowering Local Communities through the CareConnect Initiative in Pogradec 🌟

At the end of November, we hosted three impactful training sessions as part of the CareConnect initiative in Pogradec, bringing together 17 participants from various local NGOs, community actors, and representatives from Pogradec, Korçë, and Ersekë. This diverse mix of perspectives enriched our discussions and laid a strong foundation for collaboration.
Training Highlights:
🔹 Module 1: Understanding Precarious Work and Vulnerabilities in Migration
Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions about the socio-economic pressures leading to migration and the vulnerabilities faced by migrants and their families, particularly regarding the challenges experienced by children and caregivers.
🔹 Module 2: Advocacy and Rights for Migrants in Care Work
This session emphasized the rights-based approach to migrant support, focusing on the responsibility of institutions and NGOs in providing essential services to migrant women, children, and families experiencing long-term separation.
🔹 Module 3 (Part 1): Support for Migrants in Albania: Psychosocial Challenges and Community Resources
We explored the psychological pressures faced by migrant families and the crucial role of community networks in fostering resilience.
Throughout the sessions, participants raised vital concerns regarding local support structures, access to information for migrant households, and coordination between community actors. These discussions led to meaningful exchanges on how to strengthen our collective approach to supporting families affected by migration.
The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the relevance of the content, clarity of facilitation, and the welcoming environment we fostered. We're also grateful for the excellent logistical arrangements and refreshments provided!
Together, we are committed to improving the lives of migrants in our communities and ensuring their rights are upheld. Let's continue to empower one another! 🤝💪

🌟 A Big Thank You from ISP! 🌟

What an incredible day we had today in Shkodër! We are thrilled to share that over 90 enthusiastic students joined us for our training seminars on Sustainable Finance! 🌍💚

Together, we explored essential topics such as the panoramic view of the financial system, EU Green Deal and its Action Plan on Sustainable Finance and some highlights on EU Taxonomy. We also took a closer look at Albania's progress in advancing sustainable finance and how we can all contribute to a greener future.

Excitingly, the students have formed 6 working groups that will develop innovative business ideas integrating ESG factors. These ideas will be showcased in our final competition taking place in December 2025. Stay tuned for the upcoming actions!

We recently held another training session in Shkoder, bringing together representatives from 10 local NGOs for another impactful day of capacity-building organized by the Institute for Sustainable Policies (ISP).
Our diverse group of participants, committed to migration, community development, and social services, actively engaged in this thematic module:

This module highlighted the importance of collaboration among various actors to create lasting support structures for migrants. Participants reflected on their existing partnerships and brainstormed ways to enhance cooperation and accountability in their efforts.
