đŸŒ±đŸ” NĂ« kuadĂ«r tĂ« projektit “Empowering Agriculture-Processing MSMEs through Digital Tools and Circular Economy Practices in LushnjĂ«â€, EDMI ka nisur fushatĂ«n e auditimeve tĂ« energjisĂ«, ujit dhe menaxhimit tĂ« mbetjeve nĂ« ndĂ«rmarrjet e vogla dhe tĂ« mesme (MSMEs) nĂ« BashkinĂ« LushnjĂ«.

Vizita e parë u zhvillua në Punishten e Qumështit Arbër, ku u realizua një auditim i energjisë, ujit dhe menaxhimit të mbetjeve.

Gjatë vizitës, u vlerësuan praktikat aktuale të përdorimit të energjisë dhe ujit, si edhe mënyrat e menaxhimit të mbetjeve, me qëllim identifikimin e mundësive për përmirësim të efiçencës dhe qëndrueshmërisë së aktivitetit.

Ky auditim pĂ«rbĂ«n njĂ« hap tĂ« rĂ«ndĂ«sishĂ«m drejt optimizimit tĂ« burimeve, uljes sĂ« kostove operacionale dhe promovimit tĂ« praktikave mĂ« miqĂ«sore me mjedisin. â™»ïžđŸ’§âšĄ

đŸŒ±đŸ” In the frame of “Empowering Agriculture-Processing MSMEs through Digital Tools and Circular Economy Practices in LushnjĂ«â€, project EDMI has launched a campaign of energy, water, and waste management audits for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the Municipality of LushnjĂ«.

The first visit was conducted at the Arbër Dairy Processing Facility, where an energy, water, and waste management audit was carried out.

During the visit, the current practices related to energy and water use, as well as waste management, were assessed with the aim of identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and enhance the sustainability of operations.

This audit represents an important step towards optimizing resource use, reducing operational costs, and promoting more environmentally friendly practices. â™»ïžđŸ’§âšĄ

The project is implemented within the BOOST Balkans programme, in cooperation with ALDA - European Association for Local Democracy, with financial support from AFD - Agence Française de Développement, and coordinated by ALDA Balkans.

U zhvillua me sukses Sesioni II Trajnimit, i fokusuar në efiçencën e energjisë dhe menaxhimin e qëndrueshëm të ujit në agrobiznes. Gjatë aktivitetit u prezantuan mundësitë që ofrojnë panelet fotovoltaike, përfitimet ekonomike të energjisë diellore, si dhe rëndësia e sistemeve të vaditjes me pikim për përdorimin efikas të burimeve ujore.

Pjesëmarrësit u angazhuan aktivisht në diskutime dhe shprehën interes të veçantë për temat e trajtuara, duke evidentuar nevojën për mbështetje në zbatimin e këtyre praktikave në bizneset e tyre.

💡 Mesazhi kryesor i kĂ«tij trajnimi ishte se investimi nĂ« efiçencĂ«n e energjisĂ« dhe ujit nuk Ă«shtĂ« vetĂ«m njĂ« zgjedhje mjedisore, por edhe njĂ« mundĂ«si konkrete pĂ«r tĂ« ulur kostot, pĂ«r tĂ« rritur produktivitetin dhe pĂ«r tĂ« forcuar qĂ«ndrueshmĂ«rinĂ« e bizneseve lokale.

📍 LushnjĂ« | Training Session II on Energy and Water Efficiency

Training Session II was successfully held, focusing on energy efficiency and sustainable water management in agribusinesses. During the session, participants explored the opportunities offered by photovoltaic panels, the economic benefits of solar energy, and the importance of drip irrigation systems for the efficient use of water resources.

Participants actively engaged in discussions and expressed strong interest in the topics presented, highlighting the need for further support in implementing these practices within their businesses.

💡 The key message of this training was that investing in energy and water efficiency is not only an environmentally responsible choice, but also a practical opportunity to reduce costs, increase productivity, and strengthen the resilience of local businesses.

đŸ€ An important step toward greater sustainability, lower operational costs, and the development of more competitive agribusinesses.

🌍 EcoDESIGN and Management Institute participated in the 4th WeBER Regional Conference “Citizens First: A Decade of Advancing Citizen-Centred PAR”, held on 10–11 June 2026 in Belgrade.

The conference marked a decade of work towards a more transparent, accountable, and citizen-centred public administration across the Western Balkans, featuring the presentation of the findings of the Western Balkan PAR Monitor 2024/2025. 📊

EDMI took part following its project supported by WeBER: “A roadmap for the transformation of informal second-hand clothes markets in the Municipality of Elbasan”. ♻

The event brought together organizations and stakeholders from across the region, creating a space for exchanging ideas, networking, and strengthening cooperation on public administration reform with citizens at its core. đŸ€

Nga shishet plastike te qeset dhe ambalazhet – kĂ«to mbetje makro (mbi 2.5 cm) janĂ« nĂ« njĂ« udhĂ«tim tĂ« vazhdueshĂ«m. NĂ«se nuk i ndalojmĂ« nĂ« lumenj dhe brigje, destinacioni i tyre i radhĂ«s Ă«shtĂ« deti, e mĂ« pas oqeanet.

The spring campaign of plastic waste monitoring at Lalzi Bay continued during the second day in another location – Cape of Rodon.

📍 The monitoring activity was carried out to identify and assess plastic waste pollution along the coastline and to collect data that support environmental protection efforts within the project.

🔎 Key findings from the monitoring activity:

⚖ 37 kg total waste collected
♻ 24 kg plastic waste
đŸ—‘ïž 13 kg other waste

đŸŒ± The results highlight the continued presence of plastic waste in coastal areas and reinforce the importance of collective action to protect our marine environment.

🌾 First Day of Spring Campaign – Plastic Waste Monitoring at Lalzi Bay, DurrĂ«s

On 30 May, a waste monitoring campaign on plastic waste identification was conducted along Lalzi Bay, Durrës, as part of ongoing efforts to assess coastal pollution and promote environmental awareness within the framework of the project.

📍 Lalzi Bay was selected as a monitoring site due to its ecological importance and its increasing exposure to plastic pollution caused by human activities and seasonal tourism.

🌊 During the monitoring process, waste items found along the coastline were identified, categorized, and weighed in order to better understand the extent and composition of marine litter in the area.

👉 The activity aimed to gather reliable data on plastic pollution, identify potential sources of waste, and support actions that contribute to cleaner beaches and healthier marine ecosystems.

🔎 Key findings from the monitoring activity:

⚖ 35.5 kg total waste collected
♻ 27.5 kg plastic waste
đŸ—‘ïž 8 kg other waste

đŸŒ± These findings highlight the significant presence of plastic waste in coastal areas and reinforce the importance of collective action to reduce pollution and protect our environment.

Në Lushnje u zhvillua një workshop i dedikuar forcimit të njohurive dhe praktikave në sigurinë ushqimore dhe standardizimin e prodhimit bujqësor, me fokus në GLOBALG.A.P. dhe HACCP.

Në një sesion intensiv dhe interaktiv, pjesëmarrësit u angazhuan në diskutime mbi mënyrën se si këto standarde ndërkombëtare ndikojnë drejtpërdrejt në:
- Cilësinë dhe sigurinë e produkteve bujqësore
- ⁠Rritjen e besueshmërisë në treg

Is agriculture ready for the international market?

In Lushnje, a workshop dedicated to strengthening knowledge and practices in food safety and the standardization of agricultural production was held, with a focus on GLOBALG.A.P. and HACCP.

During an intensive and interactive session, participants engaged in discussions on how these international standards directly impact:
- The quality and safety of agricultural products
- Increasing market trust and credibility
- Preparing for broader and more competitive markets
- Modernizing production practices

The key message of the day was:
Standards are not just a REQUIREMENT, but a real opportunity for GROWTH and SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.

EDMI Centre continues to support the transformation of the agricultural sector through knowledge, innovation, and sustainable practices.
