Në kuadër të projektit ACTIVE Water II, më 30 Shtator 2026 organizojmë konferencën kushtuar monitorimit, mbrojtjes dhe menaxhimit të qëndrueshëm të trupave ujorë në Shqipëri.

Përmes tre paneleve tematike, përfaqësues të institucioneve, ekspertë dhe aktorë të fushës do të diskutojnë mbi situatën e trupave ujorë në Shqipëri, ndikimin e ndotjes në turizëm, bujqësi dhe shëndetin publik, si dhe nevojën për monitorim afatgjatë dhe forcimin e mekanizmave institucionalë.

As part of the ACTIVE Water II project, on 30 September 2026, we are organizing a conference dedicated to the monitoring, protection, and sustainable management of water bodies in Albania.

Through three thematic panels, representatives of public institutions, experts, and key stakeholders will discuss the current state of water bodies in Albania, the impact of water pollution on tourism, agriculture, and public health, as well as the need for long-term monitoring and stronger institutional mechanisms.

🌊 Publikohet Raporti i Fazës së Tretë të Monitorimit të Cilësisë së Ujërave – Active Water II
H2H Foundation, në bashkëpunim me Art Kontakt dhe North Green Association, publikon raportin e fazës së tretë të monitorimit të cilësisë së ujërave sipërfaqësore, të realizuar në prill 2026.
Monitorimi përfshiu 13 zona ujore strategjike në Shqipëri dhe kombinoi m***e fiziko-kimike në terren, analiza mikrobiologjike laboratorike dhe monitorim ajror me dron.
Rezultatet evidentojnë ndikime nga ujërat e ndotura urbane, aktivitetet bujqësore dhe rekreative, si dhe nevojën për monitorim të vazhdueshëm dhe ndërhyrje të koordinuara në zonat kritike.

H2H Foundation, in cooperation with Art Kontakt and North Green Association, is pleased to publish the third-phase surface water quality monitoring report, based on monitoring conducted in April 2026.
The assessment covered 13 strategic water areas across Albania and combined in-situ physicochemical measurements, laboratory microbiological analyses and aerial drone monitoring.
The findings highlight pressures from urban wastewater, agricultural and recreational activities, as well as the need for continued monitoring and coordinated action at critical sites.

🌍💪 On September 12, 2026, the forth beach cleanup activity was carried out at Lalëz Public Beach near Melia under the project.

Before the cleanup began, participants took part in an awareness-raising session focused on the impacts of plastic pollution, the importance of reducing single-use plastics, and the connection between waste, rivers, and marine ecosystems. The session encouraged participants and beach visitors to adopt more responsible waste-management habits and highlighted how everyday actions can help prevent plastic waste from reaching our waterways and seas. 🌱🌊

H2H Foundation, together with activists and members of Rotary District 2485 clubs in Albania and Kosovo—specifically Rotary Club Tirana International & Interact, Rotary Club Tirana West, Interact Durrës, and Rotary Club Tirana Bllok—joined forces to clean up the public beach at Lalzi Bay.

During the activity, together we collected 76.055 kg of waste, divided as follows:

♻️ 29.595 kg of plastic waste
🗑️ 46.46 kg of other waste

Every kilogram collected is a step toward a cleaner, healthier environment. Together, we are proving that collective action can drive real change. 🌟

📍🌊 Building evidence through marine litter monitoring

This map shows the distribution of marine litter monitoring locations established under the – Cleaner Rivers, Cleaner Seas project in the Ishëm and Vjosa river basins.

At these locations, local CSOs have collected comparable data on the quantity, composition and potential sources of plastic pollution. Each monitoring point represents not only an activity carried out in the field, but also an important contribution to building a stronger evidence base for informed decision-making and preventive measures. 📊
Monitoring helps us better understand the scale and characteristics of pollution and supports the development of more targeted actions to prevent waste from reaching rivers and seas.

From field data to policy action, every monitoring activity brings us one step closer to cleaner aquatic ecosystems. ♻️

🌍💪 On July 22, 2026, the third beach cleanup activity was carried out at Lalëz Public Beach under the project.

This time, volunteers from a and joined forces to collect an impressive 226 kg of waste in just one day — a clear reminder of the scale of pollution affecting our coastline.

Beyond cleanup, the activity focused on raising awareness about:

🚯 Reducing single-use plastics to prevent waste from reaching rivers and seas.

🌊 Protecting waterways like the Tarin stream, which directly impacts marine ecosystems.

♻️ Promoting sustainable habits in local communities to ensure long-term environmental health.

This time, our focus was not only on removing waste but also on strengthening community engagement and highlighting the importance of protecting waterways that flow into the sea.

On July 21, 2026, the 2nd monitoring activity was carried out at Public Beach near Tarin stream within the framework of the project. With the support of volunteers from and the team assessed waste levels, documented environmental conditions, and gathered valuable data to guide future actions for coastal protection.

📍The selected monitoring site was located along the Lalez coastline project.
During the activity, the presence, types and quantities of litter were observed and monitored according to the standardized beach litter monitoring protocol.

The activity aimed to provide a clearer overview of the pollution situation in the area by identifying the main types of litter, understanding their possible sources, and assessing their impact on the coastal and marine environment. It also served to promote awareness on the importance of reducing plastic waste and protecting natural ecosystems.

🔎 Key findings from the monitoring activity:
🧾 690 litter items collected per 100 meters
⚖️ 23.495 kg of waste collected in total
♻️ 17.595 kg of plastic items
🗑️ 5.9 kg of other waste
