Outdoor Ambassadors seeks to engage the next generation (14-18 year olds) of Albanians in environmental preservation activities in cities and towns around Albania while educating them about the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability. Through Outdoor Ambassadors, the youth are gaining an appreciation for nature and developing the leadership skills necessary to become confident
community leaders who are able to advocate for its protection. While Outdoor Ambassadors is a project designed and implemented by American Peace Corps volunteers and their Albanian counterparts, our aim is to create a self-sustaining movement that challenges the existing environmental problems in this country for years to come. This means we not only seek to develop vital skills, but also ignite passionate responses from our members while teaching how to connect the two. Using these skills, Albanians can protect the environment of their own country. Outdoor Ambassadors believes that youth will play an integral role in the solution to the environmental problems here. It is the hope of the program that through their involvement in Outdoor Ambassadors, youth will gain the skills and passion they need to become environmental conservation leaders in their communities both today and in the future.
