This year in Munich, Albania joined Bits & Pretzels, one of Europe's leading start-up festivals, as the official Partner Country, bringing 17 start-ups from Albania, Kosovo and the diaspora to the international stage.

Working in cybersecurity, AI and education, among today's most in-demand sectors, the start-ups came to share ideas, connect with peers and attract investment.

Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj welcomed Bavaria's Minister of Digital Affairs, Dr. Fabian Mehring, and digital ministers of the German states to the Albanian stand, discussing closer cooperation and links between German companies and Albanian start-ups.

The participation was supported through Startup Albania and EU4Innovation, implemented by GIZ.

After ITB Berlin, VivaTech and Slush, Albania keeps strengthening its place on Europe's innovation map.

Këtë vit në Mynih, Shqipëria iu bashkua Bits & Pretzels, një nga festivalet kryesore të start-up-eve në Europë, si Vend Partner zyrtar, duke sjellë në skenën ndërkombëtare 17 startup-e nga Shqipëria, Kosova dhe diaspora.

Duke operuar në fushat e sigurisë kibernetike, inteligjencës artificiale dhe edukimit, ndër sektorët më të kërkuar sot, startup-et erdhën për të ndarë idetë e tyre, për t'u lidhur me homologët dhe për të tërhequr investime.

Ministrja e Ekonomisë dhe Inovacionit, Delina Ibrahimaj, priti në stendën shqiptare Ministrin e Digjitalizimit të Bavarisë, Dr. Fabian Mehring, si dhe ministrat e digjitalizimit të landeve gjermane, me të cilët diskutoi për një bashkëpunim më të ngushtë dhe për lidhjen e kompanive gjermane me startup-et shqiptare.

Pjesëmarrja u mbështet nga Startup Albania dhe EU4Innovation, i zbatuar nga GIZ.

Pas ITB Berlin, VivaTech dhe Slush, Shqipëria vazhdon të forcojë vendin e saj në hartën evropiane të inovacionit.

Opening new pathways for institutional development with 6 EU-related applications submitted.

Through tailored guidance and mentoring, participating institutions were supported in identifying relevant funding opportunities, developing project concepts and advancing their engagement with EU framework programmes and similar instruments.

Beyond access to funding, this process contributes to building stronger institutional capacities for international collaboration, innovation and sustainable project development.

InnoVET strengthens the institutional capacity of VET providers to engage with European funding and innovation ecosystems.

18 student start-up teams supported.

Through business development training, coaching, mentoring and networking, participating teams gain access to the knowledge and ecosystem connections needed to further develop early-stage concepts.

The approach strengthens the entrepreneurial capacity of VET learners while creating stronger links between education, innovation ecosystems and potential market opportunities.

InnoVET supports the transition from entrepreneurial learning to practical venture development by creating structured opportunities for students to test, refine and advance their business ideas.

400 teachers strengthened through InnoVET.

The focus extends beyond individual skills development, contributing to stronger institutional capacity and more adaptable VET provision aligned with emerging labour market and innovation needs.

InnoVET places educator capacity at the centre of VET system transformation. By strengthening teachers’ competencies in innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability, the intervention supports the adoption of more practice-oriented teaching approaches and learning environments.

VET institutions play a critical role in preparing young people for rapidly changing labour markets.

Through InnoVET, entrepreneurship and innovation are being embedded into the learning environment through new methodologies, extracurricular activities and stronger links with ecosystem actors.

The intervention promotes a shift from predominantly theoretical learning towards experiential, collaborative and opportunity-oriented learning, enabling students to engage with real business contexts and entrepreneurial processes.

This approach contributes to strengthening the responsiveness of Albania’s VET system and its capacity to support future-oriented skills development.

InnoVET is strengthening Albania’s VET ecosystem by supporting 9 consortia and connecting 22 Quadruple Helix partners across VET providers, academia, the private sector and civil society.

By integrating entrepreneurship and innovative thinking into VET education, the initiative supports institutional capacity, cross-sector collaboration and more practice-oriented learning pathways for future talent.

The objective: a more responsive, innovation-driven and interconnected VET system in Albania.
