OMSA aspires an Albanian society where every individual regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender, color, age, social status, marital status, physical disability, health status, ethnicity enjoy full rights and freedoms, to provide social, health, education and legal assistance.
‘’Open Mind Spectrum Albania – OMSA’’ realizes that people who do not know their human rights are vulnerable and easy prey for perpetrators. There are too many in our communities who suffer from discrimination, bullying and abuses. We realize the value of education and the vital need for people to know that they have human rights and responsibilities. The purpose of Youth for Human Rights International is to teach youth about human rights, specifically the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and inspire them to become advocates for tolerance and peace. Easy to understand user-friendly materials form part of their global program. Open Mind Spectrum Albania – OMSA is now proud to collaborate with Youth for Human Rights Albania (YHR-Albania) to expand Human Rights Education in Albania. As a non-profit organization we need community support, sponsors and volunteers. Your help is needed. We are a civil rights tool in Albania, pretending to create a network link between Organizations. To realize this vision OMSA will work:
- To increase the visibility of certain communities like:
• Roma, Egyptian (and all other color groups in Albania),
• LGBTQI (Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Q***r, Intersex),
• adolescent and adults,
• mothers in need of belonging to these social classes,
• young people with certain health problems, such drugs and AIDS, etc.,
• women,
• domestic violence,
• gender equality and non-discrimination,
• protection of the rights of these communities in
the structures of justice and providing legal assistance to them through a qualified staff for these issues,
• raising awareness of the Albanian society over their problems by increasing the level of informing the public and institutions on issues of concern to these communities without violating the legal provisions.
