🌱 𝗦𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 | 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 🇪🇺

🤝 As the SIMPLE (Social Innovation Models to Promote Learning and Employability) project comes to a close, we look back on a journey of collaboration, learning and shared commitment to building more inclusive societies across Europe.

💡 Throughout the project, we explored how social innovation can create meaningful pathways for displaced Ukrainian women to recognise their skills, develop their potential and rebuild their lives with confidence and dignity.

🎯 The final conference, held in Dubrovnik on 22 October 2026, marked an important opportunity to share the project's key results, reflect on lessons learned and explore how successful practices can be sustained, transferred and built upon beyond the project's lifetime.
💙 Our final remarks confirm the initial stand: empowering displaced Ukrainian women is an investment in Europe's future. 🤝 Through cooperation, inclusive support systems and innovative solutions, we can turn challenges into opportunities and help Ukrainian women learn, work, belong and build a future with dignity. 🇺🇦❤️🇪🇺

🎥 GEAR UP! Seminar | Lille, France 🇫🇷

A look back at the GEAR UP! seminar hosted by Region Hauts-de-France on 14–15 October, where the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion (AIE) joined European partners to exchange good practices, strengthen skills and explore new project opportunities.

👏 We are delighted that our member, Herzegbosnian County, joined us today at the SIMPLE Final Conference in Dubrovnik.

🔝The Head of Coordination Unit for Development and Integration, Miskovic, just presented the WIN Project implemented by the country as region of the EU Macroregional Strategy for the Danube Region.

🎯 Her presentation went straight to the point of the need to capitalise the practical results that projects generate into sustainable solutions.

🙏 Our gratitude goes to the Herzegbosnian County for accepting to contribute to the success of the event.

🤝 Today we are in Dubrovnik, Croatia, to host the last project meeting of the SIMPLE (Social Innovation Models to Promote Learning and Employability) project.

🌍 SIMPLE has brought together partners from 6 countries, committed to strengthening social innovation and inclusion across Europe.

🎯 The project aimed to improve the integration and employability of Ukrainian refugees by identifying, promoting and scaling effective social innovation practices that support learning, access to employment and community inclusion.

💡 As the last meeting of the project, ahead of the final conference, partners reviewed its outcomes and the steps for its closure.

✅ The partnership also identified lessons learned and the key results viable to capitalisation.

💙 Supporting displaced Ukrainian women across the EU is essential to ensuring that displacement does not become a long-term barrier to their independence, professional development and social participation. By improving access to learning, employment and inclusive support systems, we help women rebuild their lives, recognise their skills and talents, and contribute to their host communities. Investing in their empowerment is not only a matter of solidarity and equal opportunities — it is also an investment in stronger, more inclusive and resilient European societies.

🌍 GEAR UP! Networking event in Lille: grassroots organisations from 11 countries share good practices in Global Citizenship Education.

📅 On 14–15 October, we participated in the GEAR UP! Networking event in Lille.

Civil society organisations, local authorities and international partners from 11 countries gathered in Lille, France, to take stock of GEAR UP!’s impressive results and share good practices in Global Citizenship Education (GCE).

Moreover, small grassroots organisations that received grants GEAR UP! across 8 EU countries and in 5 IPA countries enjoyed a privileged spot in the event, presenting their lessons learned.

💥Of the 224 small-scale local initiatives financed across 13 countries, the AIE supported 13 projects. Three of them were showcased in Lille.

💡Through 22 workshops, participants exchanged creative approaches to engaging children and young people in active citizenship, environmental action and democratic participation — from educational games and youth ambassador programmes to debates and hands-on local initiatives.

🤝 Looking ahead, GEAR UP! aims to build a network of small grassroots organisations equipped with GCE methods that can learn from and cooperate with one another, both locally and internationally. As the project enters its final nine months, these exchanges will also contribute to a good practice guide, helping turn shared learning into lasting impact.

🌱 𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 | 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝗺, 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝘇𝗲𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗮 🇧🇦

🗻 From 13 to 15 October, the Municipality of Neum hosted the sixth international partnership meeting of the Interreg IPA ADRION PROMONT project, bringing together partners from across the Adriatic-Ionian region.

🤝 The Adriatic Ionian Euroregion (AIE), as a project partner, contributes to strengthening transnational cooperation to protect and regenerate mountain ecosystems, preserve biodiversity and promote sustainable development in rural areas.

The meeting reviewed progress across the six pilot areas, shared experiences and explored future activities. Field visits also showcased Neum’s rich natural and cultural heritage.

🌍 FROM POLICY TO TERRITORY: MAKING THE MEDITERRANEAN PACT WORK

📍 Brussels | 14 October 2026 | European Week of Regions and Cities

The Adriatic Ionian Euroregion (AIE) contributed to the high-level policy debate as part of the MedCoopAlliance, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening Euro-Mediterranean relations and promoting territorial cooperation.

The Euroregion was represented by Aldrin Dalipi, President of the AIE, who delivered a speech emphasising the essential role of regions and cross-border cooperation in turning the Mediterranean Pact’s priorities into concrete results. He also highlighted multi-level governance, youth participation and the need to create opportunities for young people across the region. Francesco Cocco, Secretary General of the AIE, took part in this important occasion, highlighting our organization’s commitment to the event and the MedCoopAlliance.

The high-level nature of the debate was underscored by the participation of Dubravka Suica, European Commissioner for the Mediterranean, highlighting the strategic importance of dialogue between European institutions and territorial stakeholders in shaping the future of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.

🤝 Through its participation, the AIE reaffirmed its commitment to building stronger partnerships, empowering regions and contributing to a more connected, cohesive and prosperous Mediterranean.

We will continue the cooperation initiated earlier between Tirana County and Dubrovnik—alongside our friend Nikola Dobroslavić—with the Head of the Dubrovnik-Neretva Region (Župan), Blaž Pezo 🤝, within the framework of the Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion and European cohesion policies 🇪🇺.

In Montenegro, they say : "Korak po korak" 🇲🇪➡️🇪🇺 Which means: "Step by step".

Today, we’re taking another, important step towards Montenegro’s accession to the EU!

We have proposed how the country will participate in the EU budget once it joins the EU, both contributing to it, and benefiting from EU investment.

The goal is to make the transition to EU accession as smooth as possible.

Another milestone towards a stronger Europe. 💙
