🦋 Balkan Odonata Meeting – Shkodra 🇦🇱
Six days of field research, exploration, teamwork, and an incredible diversity of dragonflies! 🐉🔬

It was a great pleasure bringing together in Balkan OdonatOlogical Meeting (BOOM) in Shkodra, participants from North Macedonia, Kosovo, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Germany (Eberswalde University).

🪷During six days of intensive fieldwork, we explored different habitats, recorded many fascinating dragonfly species, and even found exuviae, giving us valuable evidence of local breeding populations.

👏A big thank you to everyone who contributed their knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for Odonata. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn, share experiences, and strengthen connections between dragonfly researchers, experts and enthusiasts across the Balkans and beyond. 🌍🦋

🐉 BOOM 2026 – Day 2 of Field Monitoring in Shkodër, Albania 🇦🇱
Another exciting day in the field at the Balkan Odonata Meeting (BOOM) 2026 in Shkodër!
Today marked our second day of field monitoring, with participants and dragonfly experts coming together from countries across the Balkans, alongside colleagues from Eberswalde University in Germany.

🔎 Our teams are exploring the diverse habitats around Shkodër, documenting dragonfly and damselfly species and sharing knowledge, experience, and observations along the way.
