As 2025 just ended, we are also concluding of the second phase of KfW funded Prespa project. Now is the time to look back with immense pride on the achievements and lasting impacts realized over the years. From the modern Pusteci Municipality building, now serving as a vital hub for the local Prespa community, to the cleanup of the ilegal wastesite in Gorice e Madhe and many more measures throughout the park. All these key investments stand as enduring milestones in our shared commitment to biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and improved livelihoods in the region. This holiday season, we express our deepest gratitude to our dedicated partners, stakeholders, and the resilient local community in Prespa for their collaboration and support throughout the project's journey. Together, we have built a stronger foundation for the future of the Prespa region. We wish you all a bright New Year filled with peace, good health, prosperity, and continued harmony with nature.

Urimet festive nga "Projekti i Rezervës Ndërkufitare të Biosferës Prespë - Faza II l, Shqipëri" i financuar nga KfW
Ndërsa viti 2025 sapo mbaroi, ne po ashtu jemi ne përfundim të fazës së dytë të projektit të Prespës të financuar nga KfW. Tani është koha për të parë prapa me krenari arritjet dhe ndikimet afatgjata të realizuara gjatë viteve nga projekti. Nga ndërtesa moderne e Bashkisë së Pustecit, që tani shërben si një qendër jetësore për komunitetin lokal të Prespës, deri te pastrimi i vendgrumbullimit të paligjshëm të mbeturinave në Goricë të Madhe dhe shumë masa të tjera në të gjithë parkun. Të gjitha këto investime kyçe qëndrojnë si momente të qëndrueshme në angazhimin tonë të përbashkët për ruajtjen e biodiversitetit, zhvillimin e qëndrueshëm dhe përmirësimin e jetesës në rajon. Këtë sezon festash, shprehim mirënjohjen tonë më të thellë për partnerët tanë të përkushtuar, palët e interesuara dhe komunitetet lokale rezistente për bashkëpunimin dhe mbështetjen e tyre të palëkundur gjatë gjithë udhëtimit të projektit. Së bashku, kemi ndërtuar themele më të forta për të ardhmen e rajonit të Prespës. Ju urojmë të gjithëve nje Vit të Ri të mbare dhe të mbushur me paqe, shëndet të mirë, prosperitet dhe harmoni të vazhdueshme me natyrën.

Korriku - Dita Botërore e Rangers-ave

Dita Botërore e Rangers-ave festohet çdo vit më 31 Korrik nga Shoqatat e Federatës Evropeane të Ranger (ERF) dhe ka per qellim vlerësimin e punës se palodhur te rojeve mjedisore dhe rolin e tyre të rëndësishëm në mbrojtjen e vlerave të spikatura të trashëgimisë natyrore.

World Ranger Day is celebrated annually on July 31 by the European Ranger Federation (ERF) and aims to honor the dedication of rangers and highlight their vital role in safeguarding our planet's precious natural heritage.

25 is here! 🌿

And we are honoured to share an example of volunteer rangers from Switzerland on the WRD theme ‘Rangers, Powering ’: the Ranger Summer Tour, initiated by the association . 🥾

This mountain outreach project brings a small team of volunteer rangers into direct contact with hikers along major alpine routes in French-speaking Switzerland. 🏔️

From hut to hut, they raise awareness about the fragile balance between outdoor recreation and biodiversity conservation – especially in the face of climate change, increasing visitor pressure and lack of knowledge about alpine ecosystems. 🌱🐾🪶🦋

Through simple and open dialogue on the trails, the volunteers:
💬 explain the vulnerability of local species (e.g. ground-nesting birds, alpine flora, disturbed habitats)
💬 promote responsible behaviours (e. g. staying on trails, managing waste, dog leash use)
💬 and encourage a deeper, more respectful relationship with nature

As the association reports, these field interactions often spark lasting changes in behaviour and perception: „For us a living example of transformative conservation through education, presence, and trust“, as president Christian Pflumio writes us.

We think: An extremely inspiring example of volunteer work to build direct connections between people and nature in the Swiss Alps! 💚

Jemi të lumtur të ndajmë disa imazhe të ketij kamioni teknologjik duke vepruar në Prespë. Ky kamion u ble nëpërmjet mbështetjes së projektit KfW për Prespën dhe është në funksion nga UKKO me misionin e tij kryesor për t'u shërbyer banorëve të Bashkisë së Pustecit. Shpresojmë që ky kamion të kontribuojë per nje nivel jetese me te larte per njerezit për një Prespë më të gjelbër dhe më të pastër për vitet që vijne.

We are happy to share some images of the wastewater cleaning truck in action in Prespa. This technological truck was acquired through the support of the KfW project for Prespa and is in operation by UKKO with its main mission to serve the people of Pustec Municipality. We hope that this truck contributes to a better life quality for the people and a greener, cleaner Prespa for years to come.
