Help was also given to the hospitals with the supply of different medical materials. In 1992, Dorcas Aid International” Albania was registered as a branch of “DAI” The Netherlands and took care of implementing and monitoring the projects in Albania. In January 1993 the activity of this organization has been officially registered by the decision of the Council of Ministers. The office of DAI Albani
a is located in Korca, a town in the south-east of Albania. The objectives of DAI Albania are:
• Alleviation of poverty through sustainable development
• Rendering of emergency aid in areas of natural disaster and man-made hostility, where possible, as part of or in combination with rehabilitation and reconciliation programs.
• Rendering social care to the most vulnerable people. DAI Albania cooperates with national Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in order to achieve a sustainable contribution to poverty alleviation. Through partnerships, DAI Albania intends to mutually strengthen the effectiveness and impact of poverty alleviation programs. These CSOs operate on a local, regional or national level, and are very diverse. However, all are locally registered and part of civil society. The national partner organization and DAI Albania complement each other’s vision and goals. The partner organization implements development and relief projects in the local cultural and governmental context and DAI Albania provides technical and financial support and advice to assist in the implementation process. From the year 2004 DAI Albania is implementing and monitoring the projects through its local partner organizations with which Memorandums of Understanding and Project Agreements are singed. Actually Dorcas Albania is in partnership with 3 Partner Organizations in Korca (Emanuel Mission Foundation, Radio Emanuel and Family Health Care Association), 1 in Tirana (Diakonia Agapes) and 1 in Tropoja (Integration Association).
