Fardah Roshan Academy We are a 501(c)3 education nonprofit dedicated to increasing literacy among K-6 students in Afghanistan. We are currently established in Kandahar.

Fardah Roshan Academy is excited to announce today, on International Literacy Day, that we have been recognized from the Library of Congress as a 2026 Literacy Awards Program Successful Practices Honoree!

Since 2013, the Library of Congress Literacy Awards Program recognizes organizations in the United States
and abroad that provide exemplary, innovative, sustainable, and replicable strategies to
promote literacy and reading.

We want to extend our sincere appreciation to the Library of Congress for this recognition and to our donors, collaborators, and staff for their continued support of this organization.

The opening ceremony of Fardah Roshan’s 30th computer lab on August 11th, 2026, located in Herat.

The inauguration was held at the Tolo Novin Private High School.

This beautiful event was held on Sunday, August 11th, with the warm presence of community elders in Jibraeel Town, Herat, and Light Herat also participated in the good activities of Fardah Roshan Academy.

The opening of Fardah Roshan’s 31st computer lab, located in Herat on August 15, 2026!

During a grand ceremony in the Guzara district of Herat, Khatam al-Anbiya town, the 31st Computer Lab was inaugurated at the Resalat 6 private school.

This computer lab provides the opportunity to use and learn about modern technology for more than 700 students of this school and is another step towards achieving the great goals of the Fardah Roshan Academy to expand students’ access to technology education and digital skills.

Free computer classes are underway!

These classes are being held in various educational centers, where students will learn computer training with the full Microsoft Office package and how to use the internet effectively and practically for five months.

All young people and interested people in Kandahar province are invited to register at one of the following educational centers.

Special classes for men are being held in the following centers: Jam Jam Private School, located in Mirza Mohammad Khan Qalacha Faramoz Educational Center, located in Mirza Mohammad Khan Qalacha.
