A Movement of Outstanding Young Champions, who Commit two years to teach in under-resourced schools, build the skills, mindsets, and knowledge needed to maximize impact on student achievement and become lifelong leaders working from within various sectors to eliminate educational inequity in Afghanistan.

In the aftermath of the devastating floods, sent a team to and provinces to assess the damage and better understand the needs of affected communities.

This video from shares what our team witnessed on the ground. Through conversations with community members, we heard firsthand about homes that were destroyed, livelihoods that were lost, and the challenges families now face as they begin to rebuild.

These assessments are guiding our emergency response so that support reaches those who need it most. is flood-affected families in both Nuristan and Parwan provinces, with plans to provide , , , and other to affected families and communities.

Young people don't just represent the future—they have the power to shape it today.

The (SVA) is a global Teach For All leadership program that equips secondary school students with the skills and confidence to lead change in their schools and communities.

This year, Teach For All network partners, including , are running their own Student Voice Accelerator programs, guided by bringing together more than 350 students across 23 countries.

At , our program is led by Rabia Haidari, Student Leadership Lead, and brings together 10 Fellows and 31 students as they strengthen their leadership, communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills.

Today, as Afghanistan continues to face the challenges brought by the recent floods in different provinces, we also pause to celebrate a moment of hope and progress.

Today, we celebrate two important milestones: the graduation of 's Cohort #7 in Nangarhar and the graduation of our very first Fellowship cohort in Laghman.

Over the past two years, these Fellows have supported, encouraged, and inspired their students with dedication, resilience, and hope, believing that every child deserves access to a quality education.

Today, they graduate not only as educators, but as leaders who will continue creating positive change in classrooms, schools, and communities across Afghanistan.

Congratulations, Fellows! Your Fellowship may be complete, but your leadership journey is only beginning.

The devastating floods that struck parts of Afghanistan have also affected communities where serves.

In , the districts of and have experienced severe flooding. While all of our Fellows, students, and their families are safe, some have lost their homes, farmland, and livelihoods, and roads to schools have been blocked. Together with our alumni, we are identifying urgent needs and preparing to distribute emergency food and essential supplies to affected Fellows, staff, alumni, students, and their families.

For more than a decade, has stood alongside the communities we serve. Today, they need our support. Your donation through our 10th Anniversary Fundraiser will help us provide emergency assistance to those affected by these floods.

Farshid Sharifi grew up in a community with a shortage of skilled teachers and students who needed so much more than what the system could offer. This motivated him to join the TAO Fellowship..

In Year 2, one of his students invited him home. The boy's father told him what had changed: his son had been withdrawn and unmotivated. Now, he was confident and told his family that he wanted to become a leader like his teacher too.

“This was very meaningful to me because it showed that even small efforts in the classroom can create significant changes in students’ lives. It also strengthened my connection with the community and reminded me of the importance of engaging parents in the learning process.”
