Thank you again for your contribution to our aid distribution efforts for earthquake survivors in Kunar.
After community consultation and assessment of access and needs, it was determined that cash assistance would be the most direct form of support as people pick up the pieces and rebuild their lives.
100% of donations (800 USD) were distributed by OSII volunteers to families affected by the earthquakes in Kunar, most who are living in tent camps under extremely difficult conditions. Rehabilitation efforts are slow and most still reside in temporary shelters, having lost everything in the destruction left behind by multiple earthquakes.
We distributed 1000 AFN each to 51, which will help with enabling food access as well as materials to rebuild residents lives.
OSII remains part of the local council network, and engaged the discussions underway that shape aid distribution and recovery planning. The road to recovery is long, and the challenges many, but we never give up hope.
We deeply appreciate the contributions of our community, both local and international, which enable us to help others and affirms our shared humanity.
