The online event titled “Voices Silenced: Examining the Situation of Journalists and Human Rights Defenders in Afghanistan” was successfully held via Zoom on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, organized by the New Thinker Youth Civil Organisation.
The program brought together speakers who shared their insights on the current situation of imprisoned journalists, ongoing threats to media workers, and the broader challenges faced by human rights defenders. The discussion also addressed the forced deportation of Afghan activists, journalists, and civil society members from neighboring countries, particularly Pakistan, and the risks they face upon return.
The session was conducted in a constructive and respectful atmosphere, allowing for meaningful exchange of perspectives. Participants actively engaged in the discussion, and in the final segment of the program, attendees were given the opportunity to share their views, experiences, and recommendations.
The event emphasized the urgent need for continued advocacy, international attention, and coordinated efforts to support freedom of expression and protect those at risk.

Afghan Human Rights Defenders Share Messages on International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day (8 March), several Afghan human rights defenders and women’s rights advocates shared their messages with the global community, highlighting the urgent need to support the rights and freedoms of women in Afghanistan.
The video messages were collected by New Thinker Youth Civil Organization, which invited Afghan activists and civil society leaders to express their views and send messages to the international community and human rights organizations. The organization compiled these messages into a single video to amplify the voices of Afghan human rights defenders.
In their statements, the speakers emphasized the ongoing challenges faced by Afghan women and girls, particularly restrictions on education, employment, and social participation. They called on the international community, global human rights organizations, and civil society actors to continue supporting Afghan women and to stand in solidarity with those advocating for equality, justice, and human dignity.

International Women’s Day

An online event titled “Women of Afghanistan: Standing for Equality” was successfully held on March 8, 2026, in observance of International Women’s Day. The event was organized by New Thinker Youth Civil Organization.
The program brought together civil society activists, human rights defenders, women leaders, youth, and interested participants from different countries. During the event, speakers and participants discussed the current situation of Afghan women, the challenges they face, and the importance of continuing efforts to promote women’s rights and equality.
The speakers highlighted key issues related to women’s rights in Afghanistan, emphasizing the resilience and determination of Afghan women despite ongoing restrictions and difficulties. Participants also exchanged ideas about possible solutions, international support, and future opportunities for empowering women in Afghan society.
Following the presentations, attendees took part in an interactive discussion where they shared their perspectives and raised questions about the future of women’s rights and social participation in Afghanistan.

International Women’s Day

An online event titled “Voice of Afghan Women - Hope, Resistance and Future” was successfully held on March 7, 2026, to mark International Women’s Day. The event was jointly organized by New Thinker Youth Civil Organization and International Federation of Human Rights Defenders in Exile.
The program brought together activists, human rights advocates, civil society members, and participants from several countries who joined the discussion on the current situation of Afghan women and the importance of supporting their rights and participation in society.
The event featured four distinguished speakers: Monesa Mobarez, Julia Parsi, Taranom Saedi, and Nargis Sadat, who shared their perspectives on the challenges faced by Afghan women, the importance of resilience and solidarity, and future opportunities for women’s empowerment.
During the discussion, the speakers highlighted key issues including women’s rights, access to education, civic participation, and the role of the international community in supporting Afghan women.
Following the speeches, participants had the opportunity to ask questions and share their views in an interactive discussion session.

Approaching the 10th Anniversary of NTYCO

The New Thinker Youth Civil Organization (NTYCO), established on 15 March 2016, is approaching a significant milestone. On 15 March 2026, the organization will mark ten years of continuous engagement in youth empowerment, human rights advocacy, and civic participation.
Over the past decade, NTYCO has worked to amplify the voices of young people, support Afghan communities at home and in the diaspora, and promote dialogue, education, and responsible leadership. Through national and international initiatives, partnerships, and advocacy efforts, the organization has remained committed to its founding principles of justice, equality, and constructive civic engagement.
The 10th anniversary represents not only a moment of reflection on achievements and challenges, but also an opportunity to reaffirm NTYCO’s long-term vision and strategic direction.

Appointment of Miss Brishna Nazari as NTYCO Representative in the United States of America

The New Thinker Youth Civil Organization (NTYCO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Miss Brishna Nazari as the official NTYCO Representative in the United States of America.
The United States represents a significant platform for international advocacy, policy dialogue, and diaspora engagement. Strengthening NTYCO’s presence in this context is essential for advancing the organization’s mission of youth empowerment, human rights advocacy, and global civic participation.
In her capacity as NTYCO Representative in the United States, Miss Nazari will be responsible for:
• Representing NTYCO in official meetings, conferences, and institutional engagements across the United States;
• Building partnerships with civil society organizations, academic institutions, policy networks, and diaspora communities;
• Supporting advocacy initiatives related to human rights, with particular attention to the rights of women, girls, youth, and vulnerable communities in Afghanistan;
• Facilitating dialogue and collaboration between NTYCO and stakeholders in America;

NTYCO Reviews “Technology of Thought” in the Meaningful World Reading Group

The New Thinker Youth Civil Organization (NTYCO) held its latest session of the Meaningful World Reading Group, focusing on the book Technology of Thought by Dr. Alireza Azmandian.
During the session, participants discussed the core ideas of the book, particularly the role of thought patterns, mindset, and mental discipline in shaping individual behavior and life outcomes. The discussion emphasized how conscious thinking, goal clarity, and personal responsibility can influence success, well-being, and decision-making in everyday life.
