Around 800 reported dead, 2,000 injured (figures still being verified). About 100 admitted to the provincial hospital; some referred to Jalalabad. Hundreds of houses damaged/destroyed in Nurgal and Chawkay district. Many people remain trapped; rescue operations underway. Access is difficult due to rock slides blocking roads.
