This interactive training will bring together an issue-focused panel conversation, practical advocacy training, and cross-sector networking.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

Although this research was published last year, our continued engagement and work with communities suggest that these findings remain relevant today. Safety concerns continue to influence how community members experience and perceive public transportation.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀, suggesting that these concerns are widespread across the community and may not, by themselves, strongly determine transportation behaviors within the study population.

These findings reinforce the importance of building transportation systems that are not only 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, but also 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲, 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

As we continue to grow, we've made a strategic decision to concentrate our efforts exclusively within the United States. To better serve our communities, partners, and clients, we are closing our international chapter and focusing our expertise and resources on delivering deeper, more meaningful impact locally.

This transition allows us to strengthen our commitment to community-centered research, data-driven solutions, and partnerships that help shape better policies and outcomes locally.

We are grateful to everyone who has supported our international works over the years. While this chapter comes to a close, we're excited about the opportunities ahead as we deepen our local impact.

As part of Horizon Next, we're excited to welcome a talented team of graduate scholars from the University of Washington Information School (iSchool), who are partnering with PORSESH POLICY RESEARCH INSTITUTE to build our next-generation website.

The new platform will make our research more accessible through intuitive design, interactive data experiences, scalable infrastructure, and a foundation for future automation and AI capabilities.

After years of learning, working, and building, PORSESH POLICY RESEARCH INSTITUTE is entering a new exciting chapter. Over the next six months, we'll undertake significant internal improvements to strengthen our governance, systems, partnerships, and organizational capacity—building a more sustainable institution for greater long-term impact.

This is about more than organizational growth. It's our commitment to place community and humanity at the heart of everything we do while building a distinctive, community-centered data and policy research institute—one that generates trusted evidence, informs grounded solutions, and creates lasting impact.
