Standing with teachers. Shaping our futures.

On World Teachers’ Day, 5 October, we celebrate teachers and recognise the essential role they play in shaping learning, communities and our shared future.

This year we mark 60 years of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers.

Today, and every day, we stand with women and men teachers in Afghanistan and recognise their knowledge, dedication and contribution to education.

به مناسبت روز جهانی معلم، ۵ اکتوبر، از معلمان و نقش مهم آنان در شکل‌دهی به یادگیری، جوامع و آینده مشترک ما قدردانی می‌کنیم.

سال ۲۰۲۶، شصتمین سالگرد توصیه‌نامه مشترک یونسکو و سازمان بین‌المللی کار درباره وضعیت معلمان است.

امروز و هر روز، ما در کنار معلمان ایستاده و از دانش، تلاش و سهم ارزشمند آنان در آموزش قدردانی می‌کنیم.

But in a world of endless information, how do we know what we can trust?

This , UNESCO is highlighting the role of access to information as the foundation of information integrity. From knowing when content is AI-generated to ensuring access to public data, the right to know must evolve with our digital world.

For 25 years, UNESCO’s Information for All Programme has helped advance access to information and knowledge worldwide, while bringing together governments, experts, civil society and other stakeholders to shape policies for the digital age.

Because being connected is not enough. Everyone should be able to access and trust the information that shapes their lives.

Learning doesn’t stop at the classroom.
Findings from the SDL Tracer Study show that 89% of graduates reported using their literacy skills in daily life.
The finding highlights how literacy skills continue to support learners in their everyday lives, beyond the classroom.
