Food Distribution Process in Northwest Region:

Shelter For Life-International (SFL) organization in partnership with The World Food Programme (WFP) Provided food and Cash Assistance for the month of December 2022 to 58,366 most vulnerable households (HHs) in four targeted provinces (Balkh, Jawzjan, Sar-i-Pul and Faryab):

- 1,300.491MT Food items distributed to 22,349 HHs in Sar-i-Pul, Jawzjan and Mazar e Sharif
- 193,313,976 AFN cash distributed as cash-based transfer to 36,017 HHs in Faryab and Mazar e Sharif.

Shelter For Life-International (SFL) partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP) has constructed a water reservoir (15.5X2.5X23m) in Qafas village of Khaki-e-Jabar district in Kabul province.

The water reservoir has a capacity of 891M3 of rain and springs water. This project improves the sustainable regeneration of natural resources, will provide irrigation water for 25 hectares of agricultural land, and protects a number of residential houses from seasonal floods. Additionally, it protects against soil erosion and provides community access to water for animal use. Altogether, 200 families are benefiting directly from this project in Qafas village khaki-e-Jabar district.

SUPP-Food and CBT -Balkh-Afghanistan.

• Shelter For Life Afghanistan's partnership with World Food Programme will provide nutrition-sensitive, unconditional emergency food and CBT assistance to members of severely vulnerable, food-insecure households, including Pregnant and Lactating women and children 6-59 months, in targeted districts to prevent further deterioration of their food security and nutritional status.
• Avoid or minimize the need for targeted households to resort to negative coping strategies during the months of most severe food insecurity.
• Under this project, Shelter For Life Afghanistan Afghanistan'sInternational (SFL) will provide 9 months (October 2022 - June 2023) of unconditional nutrition-sensitive CBT and food assistance. Monthly preventive BSFP ration and food assistance will be provided to crisis-affected people.

- In Mazar-e-Sharif city 75%-CBT 13,173 HHs received 73,768,800 AFN case assistance
- In Mazar-e-Sharif city 50 % -CBT10,553 HHs received 44,322,600 AFN case assistance
- In Mazar-e-Sharif city 50% -Food 16,660 HHs received 1013 MT Food assistance
- In Nahri Shahi district of Balkh 75% CBT 1,274 HH received 7,134,400 AFN case assistance
- In Nahri Shahi district of Balkh 75% -Food 950 HHs received 86.6 MT food assistance.
- In Qurghan district of Faryab 75% CBT 2833 HHs received 15,864,800 Afn case assistance
- In Aqcha district of Jawzjan province, totally 1456 HHs received 132.9 MT food items.
- In Sozma Qala district of Sare pul province, totally 2804 HHs received 170.48 MT food items.

- در ولسوالی اقچه ولایت جوزجان برای 1,456 فامیل 132.9 متریک تن مواد غذای از برنامه غذای جهان مستفید شدند.
- در ولسوالی سوزمه قلعه ولایت سرپل برای 2,804 فامیل 170.48 متریک تن مواد غذای از برنامه غذای جهان مستفید شدند.

Resilience building-Worsa District, Takhar-Afghanistan.
Sare dasht Irrigation Canal.

Shelter for Life International (SFL) in partnership with World Food Programme (WFP) is implementing a 3500-meter-long irrigation canal in the Worsaj district of Takhar province. Along this canal, some other infrastructures including (stone masonry ditches and wash culverts) will also be constructed.
By the completion of this project over 500 rain-fed-land will be changed to irrigation. Altogether 750 Households will directly benefit from this project. Moreover, farmers will be able to make use of mainly rain-fed lands through this canal. The result will provide more agricultural output for local farmers and increase also be access to more incomes.

کانال آبیاری سردشت:
موسسه بین المللی شلتر فار لایف با همکاری سازمان غذایی جهان یا WFP کانال آبیاری به طول 3500 متر را در ولسوالی ورسج ولایت تخار میسازد. در کنار این کانال زیرساخت‌های دیگری را از جمله (جویچه های سنگ کاری ) نیز احداث خواهد شد.
با تکمیل این پروژه بیش از 500 زمین للمی به آبیاری تبدیل می شود. در مجموع 750 فامیل به طور مستقیم از این پروژه بهره مند خواهند شد. همچنین کشاورزان از طریق این کانال می توانند از اراضی زمین للمی استفاده کنند. در نتیجه، تولیدات کشاورزی بیشتر برای کشاورزان محلی و افزایش دسترسی به درآمد بیشتر را فراهم می کند

- In Qurghan District of Faryab Province 153 HHs received 962,449 AFs Cash assistance.
