Afghanistan’s Voice Matter!
Samsoor Watan, in collaboration with other stakeholders, has initiated efforts to explore the possibility of participating in the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30). This initiative seeks to highlight concerns regarding Afghanistan’s exclusion from global climate dialogues and to advocate for greater recognition of the country’s vulnerability to climate change.

We therefore call upon the international community to recognize Afghanistan as a crucial partner in addressing climate-related challenges and to ensure its meaningful inclusion in global climate discussions.

Strengthening Afghanistan’s voice within international climate platforms is essential to achieving equitable and effective global climate action.

On 29th October 2025, Samsoor Watan proudly participated as a member of CANSA–Afghanistan, a regional network of NGOs and CSOs united to drive impactful climate action across South Asia.

Calling all Afghan Youth & Children – ALCOY 2025 Creative Contests are now open!

The Afghanistan Local Conference of Youth (ALCOY 2025) is inviting children (ages 10–15) and youth (ages 16–30) to showcase their creativity and passion for climate action through photos, essays, and drawings.
This is your chance to express:
How climate change affects your community
What climate justice means to you.
How youth and children can help build a more resilient, greener Afghanistan.
Contest Categories

About ALCOY: The Afghanistan Local Conference of Youth-ALCOY (ALCOY) is a youth-led initiative under Global COY, endorsed by YOUNGO, the UNFCCC’s official youth constituency. It empowers Afghan youth to engage in climate decision-making and drive local and global climate action.

Theme: Empowering Youth for Climate Justice: Advancing Climate Finance and Engagement for a Resilient Future

Objectives:
• Amplify Afghan youth voices on climate justice and finance

Kabul’s Water Crisis and the Call for Climate Justice

Samsoor Watan’s Executive Director, Sayedmuhammad Sulimankhil was recently featured on the The Afghan Eye Podcast to discuss one of the most urgent challenges facing Afghanistan today: Kabul’s deepening water crisis.

With groundwater rapidly depleting, only 10% of the city connected to a piped water grid, and millions depending on unsustainable private wells, Kabul stands at the brink of ecological collapse. This crisis is not only about water, it is about climate justice, survival, and the future of Afghanistan’s youth.

In the interview, Mr. Sulimankhil underscores the importance of community-driven solutions, youth empowerment, and international solidarity. He calls for urgent action, including groundwater regulation, expansion of water infrastructure, revival of traditional water systems, and global re-engagement to support climate resilience in Afghanistan.

At Samsoor Watan, we continue to raise awareness, educate youth, and advocate for sustainable solutions, even with limited resources, because a livable future depends on it.

به عنوان بخشی از آمادگی‌های ما برای برگزاری کنفرانس ملی تغییرات اقلیمی جوانان افغانستان یک سلسله‌ از نشست های مشورتی را با آسیب‌پذیرترین گروه‌ها در افغانستان راه‌اندازی کرده‌ایم تا صدای آنان بخش از بیانیه ملی اقلیمی جوانان افغانستان باشد‌.
این نشست مشورتی فضایی اختصاصی است برای شنیدن اولویت‌ها، نگرانی‌ها و دیدگاه‌های جوانان افغان در زمینه عدالت و تمویل اقلیمی.
