Another wonderful evening of learning, laughter, reflection and camaraderie at BOAT Toastmasters Club! 🚤🎤

Our 301st meeting took place on 24th September 2026 at Glendale School, Oud Metha, our “Moments of Truth.” session.

The evening kicked off with our VPE TM Manish Navlani calling the meeting to order, followed by our President DTM Usha Mohan, who took us through the Presidential Address and an engaging Moments of Truth session. Usha then seamlessly stepped into the role of Toastmaster of the Day, guiding us through the evening with such warmth.

Our Word Master TM Ujjwal Luwagun added a little extra vocabulary magic to the meeting with his word of the day - Intrepid

Taking the stage for the prepared speech segment was our very own TM Brynell Moraes followed later by a thoughtful evaluation from TM Ansley Gonsalves.

TM Santosh VK took charge of everyone's favorite Table Topics session, putting members on the spot and encouraging those wonderfully spontaneous moments where we discover just how creative we can be without preparation!

Keeping everyone honest with the clock throughout the evening was TM Manish Navlani, diligently managing the Timer’s Reports and voting. ⏱️

The evaluation segment concluded with TM Deepak Pradeep as our General Evaluator, giving us an overall perspective on the meeting and helping the club continue to learn, improve and grow. 🌱

Meeting #301 reminded us exactly why Moments of Truth matter in Toastmasters. Those small interactions and experiences that shape how we grow as members, leaders and as a club. The honest testimonials that help us grow and do differently where we can.

An MOT session or Moments of Truth session in Toastmasters is a structural club-quality evaluation and health-check tool. It is part of the Successful Club Series designed to help clubs assess how well they meet members' needs, create great first impressions, and plan future improvements.

Members will be split into small groups to review and score the club on six critical operational standards.

We as a club are having ours this Thursday and would be delighted to have your support and inputs.

What a stupendous meeting it was last night!
Milestone Meeting!
#300
Tercentenary or Tricentennial Meeting!

It was full of fun, learning, great food, meeting past members and presidents!

The call to order by our handsome VPE @⁨Manish Navlani⁩ was a huge hit!

What can I say about our TMOD @⁨Kruthi Seshachalam⁩ that hasn’t been said before! She rocked with her theme and literally brought the house down! The guffaws and chuckles wouldn’t stop!
Our two slide compilers, word master and singer were our club VPPR @⁨Brynell Moraes⁩ and past president @⁨Deepak Pradeep⁩!
Each of them did their will perfection! Deepak had people laughing with his comments during the round robin session and nobody can sing with heart and soul like our nightingale Bry! Accompanying Bry was Kruthi’s handsome son Nikhil!
Beautifully done! The cake cutting ceremony with all the past and present members and club officers was indeed a treat!
@⁨Ansley Gonsalves⁩ did one of best ever Ah counter and Grammarian role! Well organized, precise and not preachy! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Our Time keeper was club secretary @⁨Ujjwal Luwagun⁩! Diligently kept time, pitched in with the arrangements and brought in a guest! His dedication and sincerity shows in everything that he takes up! A special mention for TM Santosh Vishwakarma! As shoot master he patiently recorded each and every moment of the the milestone meeting!
My home club Desert Divas TMC were there in full swing to support and assist our club. IPP and current AD, Area 28, Arpita Trivedi was the GE and she managed to make this role fun and held everyone’s attention for ten minutes! Commendable! The project speaker Vidhya Ganesh and evaluator DTM Deepa Umashankar, worked in tangent together to give a perfect presentation for the benefit of all. I’m grateful for these beautiful friends and their support.
Our District 127 Champ came over and delivered a thought provoking and totally inspiring keynote speech! Thank you Hashim Haleem DTM.
District leaders, DD Harish Krishnan DTM and PQD Deewee Alcasoas DTM graced our milestone meeting and Open House by staying till the very end. Thank you 🙏🏼

The attendees were treated to a great spread (Vada pavs, Gulab Jamuns, tea along with Tomato Rice, pappads and Raita from the President Usha Mohan’s kitchen, and of course a delicious celebration chocolate cake!

When the Dubai heat is doing the absolute most, there are very few things we can all agree on but a cold scoop of ice cream is probably one of them.
Have you ever wondered how that simple frozen treat evolved from something enjoyed centuries ago into the colourful cones, gelatos, soft serves and outrageous flavour combinations we know today?
